Students also participate in Youth Parliament Programmes annually for which the financial support is provided by the Government of West Bengal.

Remedial Coaching has been introduced during the XIth plan period of UGC in order to improve academic skills and strengthen knowledge of backward groups of SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer) and minority communities. Extra classes shall be provided which shall be taken by the college teachers, retired teachers, research scholars etc. General students who need these classes may also be allowed.
