Good exposure in terms of industry visits and internships
Placement Experience:
On campus placements are good, for people with CGPA more than 8, job opportunities are good. They can find it easily. Also there is a conpulsion of two internships so contacts are made during that time
Good companies do ckme here for campus placements but wouldnt hire you just cause of the degree that you have but you will have to prove what you are
Placement Experience:
Mostly ppl do get placed and companies like puma and tanishk did make a good offer and student are eligible for campus placements from 3rd year and if u do know what you are doing it isnt really hard for you get a job talking abt averege pakage it is around 4 to 6 lack whihc goes up to 20 to 25 lack if you are really good at what you
The students of sem 8 has to prepare for their Graduation project/design collection so for the whole semester they work under a company or designer and if they like the student they might retain them after graduation.
Since I am second year only, I do not know the college placements in depth.
But I have heard from some seniors that the placements are not good and they prefer to be placed by themselves.
But Nift tries to get every student placed they do not leave the student until and unless it's the worst case.
Hightest package is 6 lakhs per annum and lowest depends upon the portfolio.
My plans after getting the degree is to work under a well renowned couture designer and learn some work skills and ethics, basically to get the experience of how to run a label as I am thinking to start mine one day. But also would like to have master degree as well.
from 6th semester we are eligible for placement, it is mainly for graduation project but they also provide ppo to some students.
some companies include retailers like tanishq, aditya birla retail, arvind and tata trent.
almost around 80% students get placed every year.
my plan after graduation is to work for a few years and then apply for masters.
The placements at my college to be very honest with you are not as great especially if you consider the fact that you're spending so much money in the college fees. So NIFT has a centralized placement system where it is only held in the top 5 colleges and the students from the other nifts have to go there for theirs. From what I've heard and read the placement are always pretty disappointing and bad. Many students end up not getting placed or taking up offers thag are not fair for the amount of time and energy you've put into into it. The biggest con of joining my college is infact the placement as many people don't consider it a good investment for it's bad returns.
When you are in year 3(internships or placements both) or 4(placement) then you're eligible to work in industry.
Accessory design is the best department in our campus (gandhinagar) and thus highly reputated companies hire them. So there's a kind of series that is followed that companies first gives preference to DELHI and MUMBAI and then other campuses. As far as my department (fashion communication) is concerned they're mostly given opportunities in retail companies for example- a VISUAL MERCHANDISER in WESTSIDE. Last year GANDHINAGAR was number one in placements with a package of 9,00,000/-
Marks or CGPAs matters at the end but a good portfolio matters alot in designing college. Right now I have just completed first year so I have this much information only regarding placements.
My plans would be ofcourse to sit for placements and get hired in a good comapny. After getting enough money for my masters I shall go abroad for masters as it builds a good portfolio and even more better job
At the end of 4th sem, you can get an internship in any company their highest package goes around 40 lacks per annum
Around 80% of students got placed in various companies and startups.
My plan after getting the degree is to start my own brand.
Placements are there in college. but Mdes started very recently. I'm the second batch on this campus in 2022. it started in 2021.
our seniors have not GRATUATED yet.
I'll find a good job .. with my own skill college prepares me for that
Students in PG become eligible in the third sem. Major companies are Aravind mills, satva consulting, Myntra, target, Aditya Birla, etc. The average package is 4 lac and the highest is 10-12 lacs. Students can get into visual design, brand management, graphic design, UI UX design, trend forecaster, etc. I plan on getting a job and working as a UI UX designer.
Employment is your call. Where you want to get placed. Good companies do come. More than percentages it's about your portfolio. Your work will speak for itself. Generally, people have now started their own business after working for like 2-3 years with companies.
