Veterinary College is located in Hebbal, Bangalore and established in 1958. It is affiliated to Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar (KVAFSU). 

The admissions are offered in B.V.Sc & AH, M.V.Sc and Ph.D programs at Veterinary College. There are 17 and 10 specialisations in the post graduate and doctoral programmes respectively. 

Admissions to the post graduate and doctoral programmes are based on written tests conducted by KVAFSU and on the basis of merit or previous qualifying examination.

Admission to the undergraduate course is based on NEET. The seat allocation is through VCI counselling. 

Applications for all courses are accepted online through the college website. But applications for counselling are accepted through VCI Counselling for undergraduate programs.

  • Also qualify for KVAFSU entrance exam or qualify national entrance like UGC-NET/JRF/SET, etc.

Selection Criteria

The weightage of marks that is used to select the students depends on various factors.

  • The aggregate in their Bachelor’s holds a weightage of 50.0.
  • The written test carries a weightage of 40.0.
  • Due weightage is also given to those students who have:
    • Medals in academics, sports and cultural activities (3.0), 
    • Passed ICAR/JRF examinations (3.0), 
    • Research publications (2.0) 
    • Students who are Physically handicapped / Anglo-Indians / Scouts & Guides / Children of Ex-Servicemen / Defense personnel (2.0).

How to Apply for Veterinary College, Bangalore?

Ans. The scores of NEET UG are considered for the selection of students in the course. The student should register on the NEET UG website to apply for the desired course in the college.

Ques. What is the eligibility for B.V.Sc & AH in Veterinary College, Bangalore?

Ans. The student should have scored a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved category) in their II PUC (10+2) level or an equivalent examination to qualify for NEET. The student should also be of 17 years of age as on 31st December to apply for the course.

For the eligibility of the course one has to complete puc from cbse or state board preferably Karnataka state board and the person has to apply to the kcet examination through online mode . The application form details are mentioned in the kea.kar.nic.in website which is the official website of the Karnataka examination cell .The application form will be available a month or 2 before the board examination . The students who are not abled to ear the board examination there results will be withhold and after the compartment examination and clearing of the examination there results will be announced. You need to have a Bachelors degree in the respective field with at least 6/10 CGPA or equivalent percentage of marks from a recognized university. 5.5/10 is the criteria for the reserved category. A written test is conducted by the KVAFSU which needs to be qualified. Students with score cards of UGC-NET/SET/JRF are also eligible to apply. You can apply for the course online and fill in the necessary details and pay the fees. Later a merit list will be prepared taking into consideration the scores in both the examination.You can check the list on the college website based on which you will be granted admission in the college.

The students who are seeking admission in the relevant course needs to have a Bachelors degree with 6/10 CGPA from a recognized university. 5.5/10 CGPA for SC/ST/OBC. Other than that you need to clear a entrance test which is conducted by KVAFSU. Merit list will be declared based on the scores. My name was in the second merit list and I was called for the counselling session. After that I was called for admission in the college.
