The Allied Health Science course includes 30 students, with 6 specializing in optometry. The program is supported by two dedicated optometry teachers and faculty for subjects like anatomy and physiology. Pravin Sir is highlighted for his supportive teaching, regularly organizing tests and pre-exams. Internal assessments consist of approximately four exams per year, with results submitted to the university. The curriculum is relevant and includes CMEs, quizzes, and tests. During the internship year, students learn about refraction, retinoscopy, diagnostics, opticals, medicine, and eye drops, and are required to complete a research paper.
Most internships do not offer a stipend, though stipends may be available during fellowships. Students work 8-9 hours daily and are not allowed to seek jobs during the internship. The 3-year course costs total 6 Lakhs, covering academic, hostel, admission, registration, and lab fees, with separate exam fees payable before university exams. Scholarships can significantly reduce student costs, with some students paying as little as 40,000 per year.
