About Sarojini Naidu College for Women
Sarojini Naidu College for Women (SNCW) is situated in the northern suburb parts of Kolkata. It is considered one of the first institutions for women’s education in this part which was established on 14th August 1956. Now the college is officially under the affiliation of West Bengal State University (WBSU). SNCW Kolkata is a Government-sponsored college, approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Sarojini Naidu College for Women Kolkata college provides various scholarships to the students. Kanyashree scholarship is provided if the date of birth of the girl student comes under specified dates. - Hostel: Even though it is a women’s college, hostel facility is made available for the girls within the college premises itself, for those who are coming from faraway places. 24x7 security is provided to the hostel. First aid kit also available to aid in the emergency situation.
- Library: A wide range of books are present in the library. About 40,000 books are available in the library. E-library facility is also made available in the library which grants online access to 12 to 15 different journals. Separate reading rooms are available both for the faculty members and students.
- Computer Centre: The entire college is connected via the Internet facility. A computer center is present on the college campus where students are allowed to surf the internet and is helpful for them to know about daily activities. The library can be accessed from anywhere within the campus through the help of the interconnected computers.
- Language Laboratory: A language laboratory is present in the English Department and is very much useful for those who admit to the English vocational course. Students can enrich their communication skills through this language laboratory.
- Canteen: Canteen is present both for the faculty members and students. Food prices are affordable. It is capable enough to seat 40 to 50 members at a time.
- Playground: Three playgrounds are present in the college to support various games like Basketball, Kho Kho, Kabaddi, Badminton, Karate, Taekwondo, Handball, Cricket, Athletics, and parades.

I had applied to many other colleges. Although i got selected ti all of them. I have choose this college. And taken zoology honours, overall very good. Chosen merit based students are selected. 3 / 4 merit list are published.

We did not have to take any entrance exam as we got admission based on our marks in Higher secondary exams. I did not have sociology in Higher secondary so I got addmission for having 87.3% marks in pure science

- There's a lot room to develop here as for extracaricuular activities.
- They should redevelop the college campus.
Admission:
Minimum eligibility for my course was 80% in 10+2 for general category. There's a reservation category is also present. The application forms will be available online once the addmission process starts. There's no entrance exam for addmission in the college.

The eligibility cut off was 45%. The application form was available in the college website itself. No application fees was required as the application process was completely online and also because the process was during the pandemic situation.

Courses are good but it should have more options and provided teachers We have a canteen which is good, it is small but clean.New buildings are being constructed. Though we do not have AC. We have a good light facility.
