Review of Government doon medical college

Likes

I like about the college that it's open and campuses good
All the modern facilities are available in the college as well as the hospital
No hostel fees is very low and thurs we can stay here ground

Dislikes

The mess is not good as the food is sometimes Stale
The gym provided in the collages bare minimum and not all equipments are available

Internships Opportunities:

The internship hair is provided for 1 year in which you have to serve in the hospital as well as you hold to provide duty in all the various departments for example surgery department Guinea department medicine department it helps in developing the skills that and practical knowledge that are required when becoming a reliable doctor

It is the top most college in the state so we have a lot of facilities that the other colleges of the state don't
The college is located in the state capital so everything is kept up to date including the instruments, etc. as in every other program we have the health minister or chief minister on our campus
The college is located in the city so the markets and other facilities aren't too far to be accessed

Dislikes

The hospital of the college is located around 3-4 km away from the college
The ground is small and the cricket pitch is in between the football ground so only one sport can be played at a time
There is no student council so there is a lot of interference by teachers in all the matters

Internships Opportunities:

One can enroll in icmr short term studentship under any professor for research work. The footfall of the hospital is quite good, so there is a great clinical exposure in the internship. Almost all the departments are quite good with excellent doctors and facilities that are mostly found in the private hospitals.

Government Doon Medical College

Likes

The boy girl ratio in the college is 1:1
Various sports and cultural events are held throughout the year
Hostel rooms are in a very good condition

Dislikes

The size of the campus is quite small as compared to other medical colleges of the state
The food served in the mess is quite average in taste
The hostel gates get closed at 9:30 pm .

Internships Opportunities:

There is a mandatory internship of 1 year in the Doon Hospital after the completion of 8th semester. The stipend of ?17000 per month is paid for the internship. During the internship the students have to work in various departments for variable time periods.

Teachers are overall good and are very involved
Campus is located at the center of city so easily accessible
Hospital is good and patient input is high

Dislikes

Very small campus and teacher accomodations and hostel are very near
Few teachers are very tough and give tremendous work pressure to students
College and hospital are 4 km apart so it becomes chaotic most days to go for daily postings specially with college buses

After 4.5 years it is mandatory to do 1 year internship from the college making MBBS a 5.5 year course. During internship you are posted to different departments for getting overall experience and paid 17000-19000 monthly for the same by government.

I liked the infrastructure of the college
The lecture theatre are well equipped and good
The labs are well equipped with all facilities

Dislikes

The ground is very small and sports facilities are not so good

The internship opportunities are present in college hospital only.IT provide rotatory internship of one year.The student is paid 17000 per month in internship program.The internship is mandatory for 1 year in college hospital

The Doon College and Hospital

Likes

The college and hospital have a really good infrastructure. It is still developing and progressing in various aspects.
The bus stand and railway station are located near the college so it becomes easier for the student transportation.

Dislikes

The college campus and hospital are located away from each other so it makes it a little difficult for the students to reach

Internships Opportunities:

All students have to complete and internship of 12 months after passing their forth proff, which is mandatory. Stipend given is 17000 per month to every student . The students have to pass all the 4 proffs before they can start their internship in the college.

The college has a good infrastructure and both the college and the hospital are at their developing phase. College campus is beautiful .Sports is given equal importance as studies
It is approachable especially for students who wish to learn more.PGs and tutors can also be interacted with for the learning process..
The college is located near the bus and railway station making it easier for the students to travel. The teaching faculty is good and interactive.

Internships Opportunities:

An internship of twelve months is necessary for every student after the final proffessors. During the internship, the student is posted in each department to learn the clinical processes and patient management more appropriately. The stipend given is 17000 per month.

Likes

Good patient exposure for the students in the hospital
Helpful and easy to approach faculty members
Good opportunities for research work are available

Dislikes

Our medical college and hospital are situated at a considerable distance from each other
Less sporting and cultural opportunities

Internships Opportunities:

After the completion of 4 and a half years, the college offers an internship of 1 year in Government Doon Hospital (as a part of the MBBS curriculum) and pays 17000 rupees monthly to each and every student.

Likes

Good faculty, infrastructure. The hospital has been upgraded and lots of new facilities are available which gives us more opportunity to learn. The non clinical subject labs are also very good and practicals are conducted timely

Dislikes

The campus is not very big. Mess food isn't good like most of the mess. Bring a professional college more focus is on studies. Cultural events aren't very nice

Internships Opportunities:

1 year internship has to be done at Doon Hospital after completing MBBS. There you learn a lot of new things. The stipend is around 15k. It depends on the department you're posted in the amount of workload you'll have.

I liked the professors have extreme knowledge
Some departments are excellent at their work

Dislikes

Hard work to extract knowledge from the professors
Holidays are much needed to us students...as we often burn out

Internships Opportunities:

Internship of 17000 is given per month. Medical internship gives great opportunity to earn and learn. If someone want to become JR or tutor that facility is also available. Even nin academic part...Mussorrie is nearby Dehradun...great place to visit.
