KIMS Karwar Faculty

some department lack staffs. so learning depends solely on you.
case load is less compared to other district hospital. lacks MRI and lacks superspeciality doctors and procedure. hence you compromise on learning workings of those departments.

most department is great at teaching. there are lot of staff keen to teach more. while some department lack staffings and hence learning depends solely on you. most of the professors are approchable easily.models are avilable in skill labs to improve clinical skills. since the college has post graduation courses, the learning opportunity is more as more cases as admitted, treted and operated and discussed well in rounds. exams are conducted regularly both to check your theoritical knowledge and clinical skills. passing them are hard but it makes you fit for university exams.

Faculties are very good and supportive they teach very well and ask doubts and best compared to other government colleges as said by my friends from elsewhere. So .

The total college is 150 MBBS students per year. Which comprises of 15% AIQ and 85% State Quota. The students should know the local language which is kannada to interact with the patients if from other state should learn in first year just normal conversation. So there are adequate no of faculties in all departments and are very friendly and helpful . They teach very well and make us to understamd all the concepts. My and everyones favourite faculty were Dr.N.S.Muniyappanavar sir from physiology department. There are 3 internal exams where your aggregate marks should be 50% including both theory and practicals for getting eligibility ti write your annual exams.

National medical council issues a common competency based medical education (CBME) That should be followed by every college you can refer to it's website exams are difficult compared to other courses such as engineering

The faculties are pretty good. Good academics college is well equiped. Labs are good. There are co cuuricular activities present. College and hostel are close. Good hostel favilities and its 3 per room. Goa is near and its nys. Its a peace environmen

You will be getting a mentor per 7 students. There is not that much faculty student relationship as its a medical college. The faculties are pretty good. The exams are usually yearly. 4 exams for 4 years. In between 3 internals will be conducted in every subjects both thoery and practical to give elgibility. The exams are moderate in difficulty. There is supplementry exam within 2 months. Results are announced fast. The curriculum is revised cbme curriculum and here it is RS4. Its mostly based on clinical exposure and more to practical side.

In 1st and 2nd year have the best and hardworking faculties having in depth knowledge of their subjects..but there is a shortage of staff seen in prefinal year and final year leading to overburdened faculties overall faculties are highly approachable you can ask silliest doubts and they will answer..

Medical College Karwar

More than 100 lecturers are there, all of them are doctors. 1year- 3 subjects( anatomy, biochemistry,physiology) each subject have more than 10 teachers and all of them are doctors. 2nd year-4 subjects( microbiology, pathology, forensic medicine, pharmacology) all of them are doctors. 3rd year-3 subjects( ophthalmology, ENT, PSM) all teachers are doctors. 4th year-4 subjects(General medicine, OBG, SURGERY, PAEDIATRICS) all teachers are doctors.

There are 8 to 10 lecturers in each department. HOD, associate professor, assistant professors are mostly doctors of respective departments. They are experts of their subjects. Teachers are doctors working in the hospital and taking OPDs everyday so they have practical experiences too.

It's a very good quality faculty. High experienced and efficient. There are few lecturers in few departments that are really bad but we can't blame. It's a course where we need to work hard. Departments like ophthal, surgery are really really good

Nice college.

Nice faculty who are very cooperative. According to me they are very helpful for students with their coaching. But some lectures will be boring. Apart from that faculties are all well experienced.
