JECRC BBA LLB FAQs
Ques. Is CLAT mandatory for BBA LLB admission at JECRC University, or can I get in without it?
Ans. CLAT UG is the primary criterion for BBA LLB admission at JECRC University, and first preference is given to candidates with a valid CLAT UG 2026 score. However, if seats remain vacant after CLAT merit, second preference is given to CUET-UG 2026 scores, and third preference to merit in 10+2 marks. So while CLAT is strongly recommended and significantly improves your chances, it is not strictly mandatory. That said, given the seat intake of 60 and competition from CLAT-qualified candidates, having a CLAT score is a strong advantage. A Personal Interview is mandatory for all candidates regardless of the admission route.
Ques. What is the difference between BBA LLB and BA LLB at JECRC University, and which is better for corporate law?
Ans. Both are 5-year integrated programmes with the same fee structure (Rs. 2,00,000 per annum) and seat intake (60 each). BBA LLB combines business administration with law, covering subjects like business management, corporate governance, financial law, and commercial transactions alongside core legal subjects. BA LLB combines arts and humanities with law, covering political science, sociology, and history alongside legal subjects. For students targeting corporate law, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, or legal roles in business organisations, BBA LLB is the more relevant choice. BA LLB is better suited for those interested in civil services, litigation, or academic careers in law.
Ques. What are the internship opportunities during the BBA LLB programme at JECRC University?
Ans. Internship is mandatory from the second year onwards at JECRC University's School of Law. The Internship and Placement Committee actively facilitates placements at law firms, corporate legal departments, NGOs, courts, and research organisations. Students have secured internships at firms like Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and Economic Laws Practice (as evidenced by IAESTE alumni). Some internships come with stipends, while others are unpaid. The university also conducts 108+ internship drives annually across all schools, and law students benefit from the university's network of 100+ annual recruiters. Students are advised to proactively reach out to the committee from the second semester itself.
Ques. What is the attendance policy at JECRC University for BBA LLB, and what happens if attendance falls below 75%?
Ans. JECRC University mandates a minimum of 75% attendance in each subject (theory and lab/practical). If attendance falls below 75% but is above 70%, students may be allowed to appear in the term-end examination at the discretion of the university, but they will lose their scholarship for that year. If attendance falls below 70%, a fine of Rs. 5,000 per subject is imposed, payable in the next academic year. Students who are detained due to shortage of attendance must register for the detained subject in the Summer Semester and pay Rs. 7,500 per theory/lab subject. Alternatively, they may register through the SWAYAM Portal of the Government of India.
Ques. What documents are required at the time of physical counselling for BBA LLB admission?
Ans. At the time of physical counselling, candidates must bring the following original documents along with one set of self-attested photocopies: 10th marksheet, 12th marksheet, CLAT UG 2026 scorecard (if applicable), CUET-UG 2026 scorecard (if applicable), character certificate from the last institution attended, migration certificate, caste certificate (if seeking relaxation in eligibility), proof of APAR ID, and 4 passport-size coloured photographs in formal dress. A fresh photograph may also be clicked on the spot. Candidates who fail to produce original documents at counselling will not be considered for admission at that point.
