My first year in PESITM

Likes

The campus is actually very good. It has very good ambience and good amount of greenary. We also have great infrastructure
The teachers are very friendly and easily approachable. They are also very kind and always ready to help.
The seniors are also very much supportive and also organise various activities for interactions with the students.

Dislikes

Some busses are very old and even though we have 3 trips it mostly always crowded.
There is no football team in college and is not given much support
Most of the students are from local areas so they are a bit retarded

Admission:

I had also chosen VVCE in mysore for the AIML branch and also CS branch in SJCE in mysore. I couldn't get both these colleges because I had not studied for kcet due to which my rank was very high. The cutoff for these course in these colleges is very low so I couldn't make it and also the fees in management quota was way more than I could afford. I chose this college over others was because of the fees being way less and also I had heard quite a lot about it. The admission process is quite simple. As soon as the results are announced just choose this college and after counseling you can just pay the fees and give required documents and join the college

Likes

ISE department is clean and well maintained
Faculties in ISE department are very friendly in nature
The department activities that are held in the department

Dislikes

Sometimes very strict in rules coming to attendence
Bus facility at Saturday will be delayed due to many students

Admission:

I applied for JNNCE and PES institute of technology and management in Shimoga. And i got seat in electronics and communication branch for the first attempt in CET councelling in PES institute of technology and management but i thought this branch will be tough Hence i applied to 2nd round and got seat in Information science and engineering branch. I thought the JNNCE college is not as strict than PES institute of technology and management hence i opted PES institute of technology and management than JNNCE. I was not rejected by JNNCE but i got seat in PES for the very second round hence instead of thinking further i joined. The admission process of our college is to write CET or Comedk exam after PUC and to enquire the details from the college according to the ranking in CET or Comedk if we get government seat or to take management seat for our ranking. If we can get government seat we can join by paying the amount or else must pay the college fee to get addmission in management seat as soon as possible. No special exams are conducted go join PES institute of technology and management must check the cutoffs according to college. As i had eligibility to go through government seat for 41k ranking in this college i joined

My Journey at PESITM Shimogga: A 2024 Graduate’s Review

Likes

College infrastructure is soo good that anybody can feel the peace and student based environment.
Sports, flash mob, cooking events, college day and many cultural Co-curricular activities.
Teaching and the labs for both thoery and practical knowledge of the subjects.

Dislikes

The canteen food and snacks charges is quite more for students.
The college starts early in the morning at 8 am.

Admission:

Since the college is out of the town near sagar road, it is slightly far for everyone. The bus facility is provided to each corner of Shimoga and Bhadravathi. Our college organizes sports, cultural activities, hackathons frequently so that students from other colleges can participate and grow through this. Our college also provides food facilities in case of inter-college competitions. If you are through KCET, then college fees will be 32000 to 35000 for general and 500 to 1000 for SC/ST students.

Faculty members, they are very down to earth .
Infrastructure of the college is very good.
Transportation facility across the city.

Dislikes

They didn't provide wi-fi facility to students
Canteen are always crowded with rush, no proper space to chill.
placement is quite normal , not that much high paying jobs are not offered .

Admission:

I specially choose this college for i got an government super numerary qouta in thi college which has the fees only 30000 thousand per year so i opted this college over the many top colleges in the karnataka.

PESITM is awesome!!

Likes

HOD takes the charge here and she keeps a check on all the professors and students interest is always kept first here.
There are enough hostels inside the campus and not many hostels have attached washrooms but our college have attached washrooms in the hostel rooms.
Infrastructure overall is just too good here as everything is in line and built with students interst in mind.

Dislikes

Too strict rules perhaps stricter than schools tolo.

Admission:

Well, since I am from the same city and when we have a top class institute like PESITM why go some where else. So, I loved the hype that our college has created ever the years and I was more than happy to be admitted here and that too with the branch that I wanted.

PESITM Rules!!

Likes

One of the few VTU colleges that doesn't just have academic excellence but also a great placement record since it's inception in 2007.
Students are injected as much technical knowledge as they think they can get by studying in top colleges in Bangalore.
Management has to be saluted as they have kept the professors in check so that they can never be biased.

Dislikes

Extra curricular activities are too less here and that's not a good sign for top college like ours.

Admission:

KCET scores decide which college you will get. Ofcourse JSS and Ramaiah were my first choice but my rank was a bit below and therefore I got th admissions here. So, it's not like one is rejected it's about th chocies and our ranks that help us get the colleges in Karnataka. The only area of improvement I see is increasing at least one section for CSE in all the colleges as CSE is in demand.

The infrastructure is very good and has nice lab facilities.
The campus is very huge with 70 acres land and lush greenery
The facilities are very supportive. And have nice communication skills.

Dislikes

The PESITM lacks sense of communication among students.
The hostel food is average and mediocare.
The college has strict rules and is nothing less than a school.

Admission:

The admission process was smooth nd easy gong with the support of the admission office in the college. The reservation is provided to the studnets who come under SC/ST/PWD quota. The college has scholarship opportunities from both state and central govts

Infrastructure is very good and attractive
Campus is vast and is 70 acres huge with lush greenery

Dislikes

The college lacks a sense of communication among students.
The hostel food is not much of a great deal for 60k.

Admission:

The admission process was smooth and easy going. They managed the students pretty well. Students coming under reservation categories get their benefits through scholarships. The government provides scholarship opportunities fairly.
