- Behala College is inviting applications for admission into PhD Economics for session 2025 and the last date to apply is Nov 29, 2024. The RET Examination will be held on Dec 04, 2024 and the RET results will be declared on Dec 06, 2024. - The Department of Philosophy at Behala College has released the list of selected candidates in order of merit based on interview marks and the allotted admission to Ph.D. Programme 2024. Click here to check.
- Calcutta University Online PG Registration Process has started. Students admitted to the PG courses must upload the relevant documents from Nov 6 to Dec 31, 2024. Further, Migrating Students must submit a hardcopy of the Students’ Registration Form at the Registrar’s Office from Nov 11 along with other required documents.
- The last date to apply for M.Music Courses 2024-2025 is Nov 11, 2024. The entrance test is scheduled for Nov 14, 2024. To check the complete schedule, click here.
- Applications are invited for admission to LLM/MSc/MA in Human Rights (Self-Financing Course). Aspirants can submit the online application forms through the university’s website (caluniv.ac.in) from Oct 25 to Nov 8, 2024. Entrance Test for the course is scheduled on Dec 1, 2024.
Behala College offers General and Honors programs in Science and Humanities disciplines at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The college also has scope for research projects (M.Phil. and Ph.D.) which are to be started in the near future.
- Prospective candidates may apply by filling the online application form available at the institute website.
- The application fee can be paid through bank challan method, which must be submitted at any Bank of Baroda branch.
- Candidates applying for honors in BA English and BA Bengali must appear for an entrance test. The eligibility criteria for BA English is min. 60% marks in English at 10+2, and 55% for BA Bengali honors.
- PG candidates with 50 marks in Graduation with Honors subject are eligible for admission.
- UG candidates are selected on the basis of merit, i.e. marks obtained in the last qualifying exam.
- PG candidates are selected on the basis of marks obtained in the institute level entrance exam.
- Reservation is provided as per West Bengal govt. norms.

Behala College UG Admission 2024
Behala College offers undergraduate level honors and general programs in the disciplines of Science (B.Sc.) and Humanities (BA). The specializations available under B.Sc. Hons. include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Computer Science, Geography, Environ. Science, Economics, Electronics and Food & Nutrition. Statistics and Botany are offered under the B.Sc. General program. Candidates can choose from Bengali, English, History, Sanskrit, Journalism & Mass Com., Pol. Science, Philosophy and Education. Defence Studies, Physical Education and Environmental Science complete the list of subjects offered under BA General. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to these programs is a pass in 10+2 or equivalent exam. Honors candidates are further required to score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks and 45% marks in the subject in the last qualifying exam. Selection of candidates is done on the basis of merit.
Prospective candidates may apply online by filling the online application form available at the institute website. The college facilitates payment of application fee through Bank of Baroda challans which are to be submitted along with the application fee after online submission of application form. No other mode of application or fee payment is accepted by the institute.

- Candidates who have not studies the subject in his/her previous qualifying exam must score at least 50% aggregate marks at 10+2 level.
- Candidates taking up Honors course in English and Bengali should appear for an institute-level admission test.
- Candidates applying for General courses must score at least 30% marks in the last qualifying exam.
Behala College PG Admission 2024
Behala College offers regular postgraduate programs in the disciplines of Arts and Science. The college offers MA degree programs with specializations in Bengali and History. Subjects offered under the M.Sc. program include Chemistry and Mathematics. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to these programs is graduation in the relevant discipline with minimum 50% aggregate marks. Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam conducted by the institute.
Only online applications are accepted by Behala College for admission to PG courses. The application form can be accessed by visiting the institute website behalacollege.in. The application fee can be paid via bank challan, copies of which are generated after successful submission of the online application form. It is mandatory for candidates applying under open category to appear for the institute level entrance exam.

- SC/ST candidates require to secure a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in graduation in order to be eligible for PG programs offered by Behala College.
- 60% of total seats will be earmarked for C.U. students only. The remaining 40% seats are open to both C.U. and non-C.U. candidates.
- Candidates can also apply for direct admission to MA programs subject to availability of vacant seats.
Behala College Application Process 2024
Students seeking admission to any of the programs offered by Behala College, Kolkata may apply though online mode for the current academic session. The following steps are to be followed for applying to any course and for admission purpose.
- Aspiring candidates may apply online by visiting the institute website behalacollege.in. No other mode of application is currently accepted by the institute.
- Before filling the online application form, candidates are required to read the application guidelines carefully.
- All requisite particulars in the application form must be filled correctly and in full.
- Upon completion, the applicant will receive a unique application number which is to be preserved for future correspondence.
- After submission of the online application form, three copies of challan are generated which are to be submitted to Bank of Baroda, at any Branch, along with the requisite fees.
- Only those candidate who are successfully registered and have paid the registration fee will be considered in selection process.
- English & Bengali Honors and all PG candidates must appear for the admission test conducted by the institute.
Documents Checklist:
At the time of physical verification of documents, candidate must bring print copy of application form and photocopies of all relevant documents including original copies of all certificates, marksheets and testimonials.
The following Original Documents are to be produced at the Time of Admission:
- Original and attested copies of Mark Sheet of the last public examination(H.S or equivalent)
- Original and attested copies of Admit Card/Certificate of Madhyamik or equivalent examination as proof of age
- Original and attested copies of Caste certificate from the competent authority for SC/ST candidates
- Original and attested copies of Character certificate from the head of the school or college last attended
- Original Migration Certificate for students migrating from other Boards/University
- Two copies of recent passport size photograph of the student
- Registration form duly filled in (available with the admission form)

Reservation is provided as per norms set by West Bengal state government. The following reservations are offered by the institute:

- Freeships and/or fees concessions are also provided to students, who are regular in classes, having good results, but are economically challenged and do not receive any other stipend or benefits from the government.
On the average, every year 70.52 percent students who belong to SC, ST, OBC category, and 44.78 percent students who belong to Minority category receive stipend from the College.

- Campus is good we have a garden , a basketball court .

- The canteen could be improved a little . Food options are quite limited

Admission:
I also got admission in Sarsuna college but I choose Behala College because it's faculty is better and also campus is better. I did get rejected by Asutosh College because their cutoff was much high than Behala College .
Likes
- The supportive nature of teachers and facility of digital library in our college.
- The fests and special competitions organized by college.
Dislikes
- They should focus a little bit on outdoor sports like cricket and football and should organize tournaments like other colleges under Calcutta University.
- The computer lab now needs to updated with latest technologies

According to the percentage(82%) in H.s I got chance in mac colleges in C.U but I chose this college mainly for its positive environment for studies as we know in maximum C.u colleges we have to face hooliganism of students union and secondly it was close from my .home

- The Teachers are quite cooperative, study is mainly practical

- Very unhygienic canteen and very bad food quality
- Teachers don't come on time and classes get rescheduled every now and then

The admission process was very smooth. There was no entrance exam involved. The only thing required was a minimum of 60% in boards and admission process was truly based on it. The frequency of exams is very often which doesn't allow us to dive deep into a topic/subject.

Dislikes
- I don't like the over agression of Union.

You have to pass class 12 with minimum aggregate of 75% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. Sc, St & Obc reservation are given. The application form of this college is available on the website www.behala college.com. The admission fees INR -15000 & application dates mostly lie in the month of June & July.

The procedure was simple and easy as the admission depends on the grades you have gathered in the 12th standard then you have to simply apply for the admission on the college website with8n the deadline then the provisional list will be out with total no. Of students applied than the merit lists will be issued students who have achieved more than the cut off marks will be eligible and there name will be displayed rank wise in the merit list from there simply pay the admission fee and congrats you are in

There was no GD-PI, no advertisement, based on mark merit got admission Not much support from teachers or facilities it was all average. The main thing is self-study for bioscience and connection with teachers.

There was no interview or group discussion conducted during admission. Admission was done on purely merit basis. Combined marks of top four subjects including ur core hons or general subject was used to prepare merit list as per which admission was taken.

Pros- It was b+ (now A) accredited college. Fee structure was convenient. Gud lab facility. Good hod. Good location and transportation. Cons- Lack of proper laboratory, Lack of proper theoretical teaching structure. Office staff not so helpful. Lack of extracurricular activities.

The college has an official website where the application form would be available and the application should be filled at the due course of time. Then the merit list would be selected, the merit list would be based upon the school grades and then the qualifying exam held at the college.
