Samanta Chandra Sekhara College is an Autonomous college located in the holy city of Puri, Orissa. It was established in the year 1944. All courses offered by the college are approved by the UGC, New Delhi

SCS College Puri offers regular UG and PG courses in the fields of Arts, Science and Commerce with a handful of self-financing courses as well. It follows CBCS course structure for all its programs.

  • The application process is online. Candidates can apply on the official website.
  • The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in OJEE, weightage, and reservation, if applicable.

SCS College Puri UG Admission 2024

Samanta Chandra Sekhara Autonomous College offers 3-year Honors degree programs in the fields of Arts, Science and Commerce. The list of BA Honors courses includes Indian Economics, Education, Indian Geography, Landmark in Indian History, Mathematics, Odia, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sanskrit, Sociology and English.

For science stream candidates, the institute has B.Sc. Honors programs in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology and Computer Science. The Commerce (B.Com. Honors) specializations include Accountancy, Finance and Management.

The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the UG courses is a pass in HSC or 10+2 from a recognized board. Candidates are also required to secure a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the last qualifying exam. Selection of candidates is done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam.

The application fee can be paid online or via demand draft as desired. Candidates are also required to download the computer generated an application form and send a copy of each to the nearest Resource Center and the College.

Samanta Chandra Sekhara Autonomous College offers 2-year Master degree courses in various disciplines of Arts, Science and Commerce. The courses that are currently being offered under the MA program include Economics, Education, English, Odia and Geography.

SCS College Puri Application Process 2024

Samanta Chandra Sekhara Autonomous College, Puri accepts online application. The steps to apply online on the official website are given below:-

  • Candidates can log on to www.dheodisha.gov.in.
  • Enter requisite personal and academic details.
  • Choose a maximum of twenty options (College + Stream + Honors).
  • After submission of duly completed application form, take a printout of the same.
  • Submit one copy of the application form at the nearest SAMS (Student Academic Management System) Resource Center.
  • Another copy of the printout should be deposited with the college authority at the time of admission.
  • Copies of all relevant documents (academic, category, proof of DOB, and proof of Nativity etc.) must also be submitted at the college, against which the college authority hands the candidate an Applicant copy and Money Receipt-cum-Index Number.

Key-Points:

  • Candidates must keep a scanned copy of their recent passport-size color photograph at the time of filling the application form. Uploading the photograph is mandatory for all candidates.
  • The application fee for General candidates is Rs.300/-. SC/ ST candidates are required to pay Rs.200/- against the application fee.
  • After obtaining the Applicant Copy from the college, the candidate should produce it at the CAF Receiving Counter to get back the same acknowledged with MRIN (reference/ identification number) on it.
  • Outside State Applicants must send the CAF by post to any SAMS Resource Center along with the required option fees via Bank Draft. The DD should be drawn in favor of ‘Principal, SCS Autonomous College.’
  • Candidates from states other than Orissa are not eligible for reservation and will be treated as Open Category Candidates.
  • Applicants who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) exam from CHSE, Orissa are required to attach photocopies of Original Mark Sheet-Cum-Provisional Certificate, or the downloaded mark sheet from the internet with the college copy of the CAF.

My Experience as UG student at SCS Autonomous College, Puri, Odisha

Admission:

My first preference was SCS but since the system makes you add other colleges so I had also applied to Government Women's College and Private Women's College. Since my I got into my first preferred college, the admission to other colleges got cancelled automatically. So I didn't have any other choice left. Once you've been accepted, they'll send you an intimation letter via email or on the portal. They'll give you a date on which you need to be present along with the documents mentioned. Once you're done with the payment you will officially receive your college roll number.

I didn't get any rejection from other colleges, I choose to study here only. The admission process is very easy as SAMS handles the entire procedure.
