Admission of the Under-Graduate in Samanta Chandra Sekhar College is merit-based as also on a first-come and first-serve basis. The admission of the Post-Graduate students is based on the OJEE.
How to apply?
- The admission process can be done online by downloading the CAF form from the website www.dheodisha.gov.in. The students can apply online up to a maximum of 10 options.
- The students are required to fill the necessary personal and academic details.
- After submission, the students should take out the printout of the forms submitted and submit one copy of such at SAMS Resource Centre and another copy at the college.
- The students should submit the relevant documents such as Aadhar card, PAN Card, Mark sheets, etc to the college as per requirements against which the college will provide an applicant copy the student.
- The application fee is INR 300 for the general candidates and INR 200 for the SC/ST candidates.
- The students belonging to outside India will not be categorized as SC/ ST. they all will fall under the general category.

The placement cell arranges the campus drive where they make sure that the students of this college are provided with placement opportunities from various top-notch companies. The top companies that visited the campus are HSBC, Infosys, SBI, TCS, Wipro, and Genpact. Around 60% of the students got placed at the under-graduate level and almost 80% at the post-graduation level. Internships were also offered by many companies.

Samanta Chandra Sekhar College Scholarship
The students of SCS College are provided with many scholarships as the rules and regulations of the Orissa Government. The Scholarships provided are as follows:-
- Post-Metric Scholarships- the SC/ST students are provided with this scholarship. The students whose family income is less than the basic exemption limit i.e.. 2.5 lacs then they will be provided with this scholarship. This scholarship includes the course and compulsory allowance fees.
- Merit Scholarship- Merit scholarship is the online scholarship provided by the Orissa government to its meritorious students every year. The candidate must have secured 60% in their Boards Exam and the family income must restrict to 6lac/annum. A total of 3000 students are awarded this scholarship with Rs 5000 per student.
- Sports scholarship- students who are talented in sports are awarded this scholarship. To encourage the students to continue their careers in sports the students are awarded this scholarship. Rs 2000 and Rs 3000 per annum are awarded to the students who have not received any other scholarship in the concerned year and studies in any recognized educational institution.
- Other scholarships that are offered by the college are National Scholarship, Hindi Merit Scholarship, Teachers Son Scholarship, Free Scholarship, etc.

Other than the basic facilities, the college provides various other facilities to the candidates and the faculty members that they need on the campus. The facilities are as follows:-
- Laboratories- All the departments are provided with computers. Science, Psychology, Education, and Geography department are provided with their laboratories well equipped with all the necessary items. The college is having around 21 laboratories divided among different departments as per requirements.
- Common Room- the college has a faculty staff room, Boys common room, Girls common room.
- Hostels- the college has provided two hostels for the boys and one hostel for the girls. A total of 200 seats are available in the girl's hostel and the boy's hostels are having a total of around 150 seats.
- Health Care Services- Youth Red Cross Room is there on the college campus that provides all the health care services to the students as well as the faculties.
- Post Office and Banks- A sub-post office, and one branch of UCO Bank are there on the campus for the benefits of the students and the faculties.
- Apart from the above-mentioned facilities, the college campus has the facilities such as playground and gymnasium, canteen to cater the needs of the students, Placement cell, advisory committee to deal with the issues of the college, library which is open for 7 hours a day and also Information Bureau which guides the students regarding their future and possible opportunities both in terms of higher studies and employment.

- It has a huge campus, with various departments
- And my college is totally coloured of a cherry red and we have separate departments and a hall in library and hostel even inside the campus

- I don't like hostel food kind of disappointing
- And even the hostel rooms are kind of mess like in one room two people can stay but we used to have 3 mates which leads to space issue we are satisfied

Actually I choose this college just because I had given I examination which is CPET In that examination I have scored 48 marks out of 80 so on that mark basis I have selected some of government autonomous colleges in my state where I was selected for this college and I am proud to have this

- Thing I liked about this college is it's faculty ,they are very friendly and also knows the way of proper teaching that can affect the maximum students in a right way .they are very friendly with their teachers and also have a polite behaviour.
- Another thing is the fees structure that is a very good and easily affordable thing .it is a autonomous college so it's fees are very minimum compared to other colleges .
Dislikes
- This college have no fests or programs,that are necessary for a student as important as study .but that's the major issue in the college .
Admission:
I applied for this college only as it is near to my hometown.i was sure that my marks will get selected for the course. The admin process is very easy ,the website of www.samsodisha.com provides form and application for applying into the institution.after get selected you have to visit the college physically to get admission.

- Infrastructure is very good. Having separate classrooms.

- There is a single washroom. Which needs maintenance
- Not having proper academic plans. Need to be improved

I choose this one because in this college zoology is one of the best department here. Teachers are very hard working and talented. You have to get giod marks in 12th to get admit here with your preferred subject.

AS aur selection process is a conducted by SAMS So my past of someone English and I also being choosen in English. So I did not get rejected from in colleges that I have applied. Our admission process is completely based on the results of 12th and 10th and no exam has been taken in consideration rather than the board results and our cutoff of English honours is 70% and overall admission experience was well

I choosed it because I had interest in chemistry since I heard faculty here were friendly so wished to get sit here in (chemistry) hons.Thank God I got it.I think I am very lucky.i also applied to PN college but I think SCS college is better

I applied to other colleges also but because I was getting physics here so I choose this college. The college is also having many experienced faculties making it a great place to learn. The admission process is conducted by SAMS portal of departmental higher education , Government of Odissa. For this one has to score good marks in their respective class 12th board examination

- It is a great college of you pursuing any professional course like CA, CS, CMA or preparing for any competitive exam as attendance requirement here
- The teachers here are very friendly and supportive and always available to solve your doubts

- Classrooms are not of great conditions and need repairs since it is a Government college college
Admission:
To study B.Com one must have passed class 12 with either of the streams. The cut off for admission was 60% The application form will be available on the SAMS portal where you can apply in any government college all over Odisha The admission process was long and a bit time taking since one has to fill multiple forms but since more than 100 people take admission then it's ok There are no entrance exams for the college you can easily apply on the basis of your 12 th marks

- Class timings are also student friendly. College encourages the students for their extra curricular activities like singing, dancing,acting etc.

- Hostel bathroom are a bit average. but got used to it
Admission:
1st the student should be fill the form for the course in the respective portal. Then assign the marks of 12th and choose the college and stream. After that some cutoffs are assigned to the college. If the applicant's Mark is less than cut-off then he or she is not applicable for the course in the respective phase of addmission. Id marks are higher than cut-off then he or she is applicable for the addmission process. Then go to the college and submit the fees for the course.

- There is nothing to dislike, everything was there is great and I'm glad that I am a alumni of that college
Admission:
Eligibility of the course is you have to at least score 50% above so that you can take that course. After the result have been declared you have to go to the department and talk with the office staff they will help you with the admission application form and in that form there will be written everything the date of admission the date of deposit the fees and all. The timing of exams is great in semesters they will give you 3hours and in mid terms you will have one and half hour.

- There is a bit issue in proper sanitation.
Admission:
For BSc the eligibility criteria is to have passed the HSC examination. Cut off varies anywhere between 55-85 percentile. Application form is released every year on SAMS ODISHA website. Candidates have to apply through that website and cut off list will be published based on that. No entrance exam is conducted. Selection is purely based on HSC marks.
