Maulana Azad College was established in 1926 in Kolkata, West Bengal. The college is affiliated to University of Calcutta, Kolkata. The college offers several UG and PG courses under different disciplines of specializations viz. BA, B.Sc. (Hons. and General), MA Urdu and English and M.Sc. Zoology.
- Maulana Azad College conducts online application process for all its course.
- For UG General programs, the candidates must have passed 10+2/ HS in relevant streams with 40% marks in aggregate.

Maulana Azad College offers several courses under UG Programs viz. 11 courses in BA (Hons.), 8 courses in B.Sc. (Hons.), BA (General) and B.Sc. (General). The basic eligibility criterion to take admission in any of these courses is to have passed 10+2/ Higher Secondary from any recognised Board while securing some minimum marks in the subject of Honors.

Maulana Azad College M.Sc, MA Admission 2024
Maulana Azad College offers MA in Urdu and English along with M.Sc. Zoology. The basic criterion to take admission in M.Sc is to pass B.Sc. (Hons.) Zoology or allied subject with 55% marks. For MA candidate should possess a graduate degree in relevant subject from any recognised University with 45% marks.
Of the total seats, 60% seats are filled on the basis of the merit of qualifying examination while 40% of the seats are filled on the basis of the merit scored in the admission test conducted by the college.

Key Points:
- Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD categories and belonging to WB are given a relaxation of up to 10% in the aggregate score of the qualifying exam.
- The admission test is of one hour and consists of 50 multiple choice questions with 2 marks each. For every incorrect answer, 1 mark is deducted.
Maulana Azad College, Kolkata Application Process 2024
The application process conducted by the college is strictly online. Therefore, candidates looking to take admission in any of the UG and PG Programmes must register online with the official website of the college. To apply for admission in the college, candidates must follow the below mentioned steps –
- Visit the official website of the college and click on ‘Apply Online’.
- Fill the online application form carefully. (A separate application for multiple Honours courses).
- Submit the completely filled application form online by paying INR 110 (for UG Programmes), INR 160 (for M.Sc.) and INR 125 (for MA) either online or download a challan to pay the required amount at any branch of Indian Bank.
- On the basis of the submitted online application, merit list is prepared.
- Candidates must carry original and 2 attested photocopies of the below listed documents at the time of counselling –

- Campus is more or less well maintained and kept clean

- The union system that has been practiced. Students union had the major political impact of the ruling party and their presence creates disturbances most of the days inside the campus
- The female washroom needed to have proper locks

I had applied in a college under the state university, however I became aware of better teaching and more advantages... So I opted for this college The eligibility criteria of the college is quite important to be noted... The ones who does better in their boards have more chances to get into this college. The cutoffs are high in the respective courses

The reputation of MAC is well known in Calcutta. It is the second best institution for Masters for Male Students in Calcutta after CU itself since only three colleges Provide opportunities for Male students in MA English under CU

- In our college, the teaching infrastructure of our department of mathematics is surely quite good.
- The Professors also ar highly qualified.
Dislikes
- Dress code is not good, no option to take single pair of uniform
Admission:
We'll we are the COVID batch i.e. 2020 batch. So we don't need to give admission tests as we are selected as the number depending on the subject and total numbers concern. The course is eligible for any 12 th pass students and the application form will be available in the College website and application fees are 100 rupees I guess.

- The infrastructure is very good and environment is very green and fresh as a government college.
- Fees is very minimal because it is a fully government college and no attendance pressure you can pursue any professional courses.
Dislikes
- Excess departments and many department are not so good just science departments are extraordinary moreover all the departments are average
- No placement No internship opportunities, it's just a degree based college does not provide any extra for students
Admission:
The admission process is on a merit basis. There is no admission test and the cutoff goes a little high around 85% to 90%. In this college, you can grab a lot of benefits if you are a minority or other Kota.

The application process was a bit tiring but now admission will be done through a single West Bengal higher education portal and it is very simple. No entrance exam was taken student are admitted on the basis of 12th marks the minimum cutoff ranging anywhere between 82%-90%.

The application form, application fees, and application dates are found on the website. Admission will be merit-based during the time frame, the admission list will be published from the final merit list one by one with time duration on the website. A minimum of 50% is required to get admission to Maulana Azad College 22% and 6% of the total number of seats in each subject shall be reserved for SC and ST candidates.

Admission:
The students can directly apply for their admission in the college website once the application and the admission process starts. The minimum requirement for a student to apply is to pass in the board examination of the 12th grade and through the admission process the students will get a chance to get admitted. They ensured admission in the college will however depend on the cut-off of each year. Students with a percentage over 80-85 percent can have a chance to get their admission done in the college but it entirely depends on the cut-off. It's just an estimate I am giving.

My admission process ta too satisfying and non biased. I am highly satisfied with this process. I didn't gave any admission test , I got admission in the college on the basis of my marks in H.S. I don't have any aspects of admission which is unlikely
