AIET MBA FAQs
Ques. What is the difference between MBA (Marketing Management) and MBA (Business Analytics) at AIET? Which is better for placements?
Ans. MBA (Marketing Management) focuses on traditional marketing, consumer behaviour, brand management, sales, and digital marketing, while MBA (Business Analytics) is more data-driven and focuses on analytics tools, data science for business, and decision-making. For placements, Marketing Management is better suited for roles in sales, brand management, and marketing agencies, while Business Analytics is preferred for data analyst and business intelligence roles. Both have good placement support at AIET, with companies like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro visiting campus.
Ques. Does AIET accept only Karnataka PGCET for MBA, or can I apply with a CAT/MAT score?
Ans. AIET accepts both Karnataka PGCET (for KEA quota seats) and CAT/KMAT/MAT scores (for management quota seats). If you have a good CAT or KMAT score, you can apply directly to AIET for management quota admission, which involves a personal interview. Karnataka PGCET is mandatory only for government/KEA quota seats.
Ques. Is the MBA at AIET a residential programme? Is hostel mandatory?
Ans. AIET has a fully residential campus in Moodbidri. Hostel accommodation is available for MBA students but is not mandatory. Students can choose to stay in the hostel or arrange their own accommodation. Hostel fees are charged separately from the tuition fee.
Ques. What is the intake for MBA at AIET? How competitive is admission?
Ans. The MBA programme at AIET has a limited intake (typically 60 seats across all specialisations). Admission is moderately competitive, especially for KEA quota seats through Karnataka PGCET. Management quota seats are relatively easier to secure with a decent entrance exam score and a good personal interview performance.
Ques. What companies come for MBA placements at AIET? What is the average salary?
Ans. AIET has a dedicated placement cell that facilitates campus placements. Companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Bosch, and various local and regional firms visit for MBA placements. However, exclusive course-level placement data for MBA Marketing Management is not publicly available. Students are advised to contact the placement cell directly for the latest placement statistics.
Ques. Can I pursue MBA (Marketing Management) at AIET after completing a non-commerce/non-management undergraduate degree?
Ans. Yes. The eligibility for MBA at AIET requires a Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks. There is no restriction on the undergraduate stream. Engineering graduates, science graduates, and arts graduates are all eligible to apply, provided they meet the minimum percentage requirement and have a valid entrance exam score.
