The College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG) has an active placement program, with around 1,300 offers from over 125 companies. Key recruiters like TCS hired approximately 200 students each. The highest salary package reached 33 LPA, while the median was about 5 LPA. Some departments noted maximum offers of 19 LPA, with specific offers like a 10 LPA package from Caterpillar and an average of 6 LPA. About 90% of students opting for placements secured jobs in reputable companies.
Placement activities start in June or July of the students’ fourth year. The college also supports internships facilitated by the CUIC, with students generally applying before their final year. CEG offers scholarships for students whose family income is below 3 lakhs per annum or if they are the first in their family to graduate. These scholarships can cover hostel and semester fees. Tuition fees are about 15,000 per semester, with hostel and mess fees around 25,000 per semester.
The annual fee is 32,000 for non-first graduate students and 18,400 for first graduates and SC/ST students, inclusive of a refundable caution deposit. Additional scholarships are available based on community and parental income. Due to state government subsidies, the fees are considered nominal.
