M.Tech Regular
- Candidates must have done graduation in the Engineering and Technology Field from a recognized university with a minimum %age prescribed by AICTE.
- Candidates who are appearing for the final semester examination will have to provide the degree certificate or result as soon as the result is declared. Candidates can also provide a certificate from the head of the university, assuring that the candidate has appeared for the examination.
- Candidates whose results are out in CGPA can obtain the certificate of equivalent marks percentage from their concerned university.
- Candidates from all categories other than the Nirma University have to produce the eligibility certificate from Nirma University at the time of counseling by paying Rs 1000.

Selection Process
M.Tech Regular
- A candidate who appeared as a GATE candidate but did not qualify. They will be considered as a Non-GATE candidate and have to attend the written test.
- The Syllabus for the Test is the same as that of the GATE Exam. There will be 60 objective-type questions of 1 mark each, and the time limit is 60 minutes.

Institute of Technology, Nirma University offers a Ph.D program with a specialization in engineering at the Doctoral level.
Admission to ITNU for a Ph.D will be done on the basis of the entrance examination, which will be conducted for the eligible candidates.
