AI-Generated Summary based on 77 Reviews

For the Master of Business Administration (International Business) program at University Business School, Panjab University, prospective students must apply through the Common Admission Test (CAT), with applications typically starting in November. Eligibility requires a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 60% for the general category and a CAT score from the current year. The CAT percentile holds significant weight, with the ideal cutoff generally around 91 percentile, although actual cutoffs vary based on the applicant pool.

After meeting the cutoff, candidates undergo a group discussion and personal interview (GDPI) process, with a merit list determining final admissions. GDPI usually occurs from May to June, with around 20-32 participants per group, which some students find challenging due to the group size. Applications are processed online, with documents sent via mail. The tuition fee for the two-year MBA program is approximately INR 66,000, with additional charges for books, computers, and hostel facilities.

Admission includes various reservations like ex-servicemen, rural area, and single girl child, as detailed in the prospectus available on the university's website. The admission process requires thorough documentation verification, which some suggest could be improved by offering online verification. Overall, students highlight the importance of preparing well for GDPI and stress navigating the comprehensive process efficiently for successful enrollment.

UBS Chandigarh: 1 Answered Question

Is this true that a student having just 40 percentile gets an admission in UBS Chandigarh on the basis of the good score in 10th & 12th?

Rituparna SahaMBA from UBS Chandigarh (2020)

UBS Chandigarh has an attractive reservation policy during the admission process. This makes this institute stand out from other colleges. They reserve 50% of the seats. The reservation is given to various categories, which include sports, defense, riot/terrorist victims, freedom fighters, NRI/foreign nationals, wards of Martyrs, wards of Kashmiri displaced persons, single girl child, cancer/aids/thalassemia patients, youth festival participants, rural area students, SC, ST, OBC, and PWD seats. The vacant seats will automatically be added to the rest of the non-reserved seats (general category).

You won’t be able to secure a seat in the 40 percentile, even if you had a good score in your 10th and 12th examinations. Admission is completely based on the merit list (reservation included). If you belong to the general category, then you should have scored a minimum of 90 percentile to secure a seat in this college. They usually give importance to the score in the entrance examination and your performance in the interview, not the percentile.
