The college has more than three halls such as Aryabhatta hall, Varahamihir hall etc. It also has many laboratories for each every research subjects from spectroscopy to wind tunnel laboratory. All my years of stay I have not come across any case of gender or religion discriminations. There are seminars and workshops held from time to time for the benefit of the students.

Extracurricular activities of IITM have huge way to join in an activity you enjoy and convene new people, and they can also be an important part of your institute. In institute, students show your interests and talents. It let you take part in an activity you enjoy, whether that's playing football, painting, Sports, Gym, Computer Labs and vast collection of Books, Journals & Magazines etc. IITM provides the world class infrastructure, with hosting center for climate change research. It make students not only enjoy but also makes you happier but can also give you a much needed break from stress. It organizes obligatory general medical checkup camps for all the members of institutes.

The institute had all the facilities and we were exposed to many metrological functions. We could relax at the fields where we could play sports activities, extra co-curricular activities were carried out by student firms and students came from different backgrounds there were more boys than girls at the campus.

The institute had all the government working firms working under one roof. The students came from different backgrounds and there were equal number of boys and girls at the campus. The libraries were fully equipped with all the latest text books and the satellite rooms were fully functional which could be operated. We had playgrounds where the students could play sports activities like football and cricket.

The college strongly focused on providing extracurricular opportunities to students and encouraged students to participate in societies like sports, dancing, NSS, NCC, etc and to develop soft skills to transform into an all rounder personality.

Our Institute hosts many technical and cultural festivals. The sixth international conference on climate services was held recently. They have pledged together to free our planet from plastic and make it green again.

There are not much extracurricular activities available in the college, there is a big ground for various sports, but nothing kind of extraordinary is present there. The labs are neat and clean with most of the basic equipment present there.
