Established in the year 1989, Model College, Dombivli located in Thane, Maharashtra is a private institute. Model College Dombivli established by the Keraleeya Samajam. The College has emerged as a leader in the field of commerce and science education in the region. The Management of the College has progressive ideas and works under a minority status (Linguistic Minority).
The college is affiliated with the University of Mumbai, Mumbai and is accredited by NAAC. The college offers education in under-graduation courses in B.Com. and B.Sc. and post-graduation in M.Sc. and M.Com. The College offers direct admission to the undergraduate and post-graduate courses as per the directions of the Govt. of Maharashtra and University of Mumbai.
- Applicants to B.Com. and B.Sc. courses must have passed 10+2 examination with minimum 45% marks in aggregate from a recognized board.
- Candidates applying in M.Com. and M.Sc. courses must hold Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Management or Science discipline as required with minimum 45% marks.
- To apply for the courses, candidates will have to register themselves through the application form available at the campus.
- Final admission to the course will be through scores secured in merit in qualifying exam as well as counseling conducted by the college.
- College reserves 50% seats for linguistic minority candidates.
- At the time of admission, there is an exemption of 5% marks of the qualifying exam to be eligible for reserved category.

Admission to three-year full-time under-graduate B.Com., BMS and B.Sc. programs is offered by Model College, Thane. three-year B.Sc. course is offered in two specializations namely, Information technology and Computer Science. B.Com. is available in Banking and Finance, Management and Accounting. The minimum eligibility to apply for the course is having passed 10+2 examination with at least 45% marks (there is a relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST candidates).

Model College, Thane - Application Process 2023
Students applying for B.Com. and B.Sc. programs offered by the Model College, Thane must visit the campus to apply through the application form available. The final selection of the candidates is based on the merit in qualifying exam followed by the counseling. The application process is common to all the courses as follows:
- Visit the campus of the institute and apply for the programs offered.

I applied to somaiya college which is located in sion.i got a confirmation admission over there. The reason why I choosed this course is because the fee structure is very low as compared to other colleges. I didn't get any rejections from other colleges. The admission process is very easy,you just have to fill the admission form attached with Mumbai University form. The eligibility is you should score good marks then the cutoff. The cutoff for overall admission experience is 75%

- the college is strict when it comes to studies

- Does not have any events , whole year there are only 2-3 events like onam and days
- some of the HOD are cruel and does not listen to students, they have a bad attitude

me personally selected this college because i did my junior college here itself and i was having advantage of in house and malayam minority. there are way more better colleges around if you are trying to pursue this course

- The faculties are available 24/7 so there's no issues with it

- Hardly I can dislike anything about model college

The reason I choose this college because the marks which I have scored so there where multiple limitations to which college I can pursue my course another reason was the distance was to low from my hometown

- Benches are broken and nails are plucked out.
- duster is not there in some classroom and blackboard is also not proper

Here college focuses on both aspects of students .i.e college life as well as extra curicullum which sets this college apart from others actually I never applied in other college as I always wanted to be a part of this college only.

- No compulsions of speaking english language.
- Not enough outdoor space for games and activities

You need to have minimum 60 % to be eligible. You can find the application form and other details from the website of the college. There are reservation benefits mainly in fees and cut off .Like less fees and less cut off eligibility

Admission:
There are offline and online both methods to get admission. Forms are available on the website of the college for online admission and for offline admission forms are available in the college office. Exams were conducted over a gap of 3 months.

- The way of teaching. College is like good not that bad instead of fests.
- Special days like saree, western etc. are also okayish. Canteen foods are tasty and their service is pretty good. Rates are reasonable so i like it.
Dislikes
- They dont conduct bigger fests like other colleges. And they also didn't do any special in saree, western days..
- Campus is bit small. Canteen size is too small and sitting area is also okay.
Admission:
I taken admission through management. Cut off starts from 75-80% . They sit in campus and provide admission forms so it is easy to get it. Fees counter is also ground floor. U can check dates in their website. They provide dates and procedures in websites. Timings are okay. Dont have any issues about procedures. Their system is good.

- The teachers are so high educated and they really support student's. And they fullfill the doubts with their intelligence.
- Extra curicular activities like dance ,singing , connexion, and teachers take initiative and make that thing happen. And they appreciate students too.
Dislikes
- The college campass and canteen are really small. And admission process is really confusing and unorganized.
- Sometimes fights in the campuss happend because of unidentified and oustide people.

The eligibility of course is 12th pass in any stream. The application form is in college website and in the college office. The cut off is about more than 60 percentage. As I said admission process is so unorganized. This improvement is really needed.

- The college has canteen and it has some fast food dishes like chinese bhel, vada pav, samosapav etc

- The campus of the college is not that much big

The admission process was good it was time-saving. the application form can be found on the college website and all the details can be found there. there are reservation categories and can be availed if you have proper caste certificates. The staff is friendly.

I was a student at model college since junior college the college was so great that it made me stay for 3 more years, the excellent staff, the campus life the events and everything they do was with excellency & enthusiasm. Every staff in the college whether teachers or cleaning facility they were so nice to us it feels like we are home, the classmates we met in the classroom we seated we never felt uncomfortable and thought that something was missing best college ever in Thane to be a student of its proud to be a student at model college these many years
