"A year in review ": My time at Bhavan's Vivekananda College

Likes

The teachers are highly educated and experienced
They use smart projectors for better understanding
They don't teach based on marks they see all the same

Dislikes

Teachers themselves have clashes within them
The chemistry department hate bsc biotechnology students don't know why
Some teachers are partial towards some children they like

Course Curriculum Overview:

They include tissue culture in final year Very well Everything is perfect They are difficult a bit My brother is pursuing microbiology here so I was ready to chose this besides my interest but I'm happy about this

Life at Bhavans as a student

Likes

The labs, detailed and well explained. All of the practical classes were conducted really well.
The campus and great comptetive activities that take place throughout the year.
The interactions and friendly communications and options in language classes that help you learn new skills.

Dislikes

The rules with strict gates closing which dint exist before, students found it easier to come to college before the rules.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I just chose the course for nutrition but really fell in love with biochemistry more. The topics were really interesting and enjoyed the learning phase. In real life applications both of the courses fitted well and further options like msc are avaialble. The improvements aren't there but there could be more interactive learning. The exams and frequency all fits well and like i said they are moderately difficult.

Good college but very strict

Likes

A big parking space where all students can place bikes
A big canteen for with comfortable seating arrangments
Affordable price for foods in canteen .

Dislikes

Strict timing of college gate will close on time
Restricted roaming for girls
Very strict rules and should attend classes for attendance

Placement Experience:

The students will be eligible from final year onwards especially and mainly after sem 5 that is final semester .There are huge companies coming for placement with great packages according to my knowledge the highest package this year is 24LPA

I like sport's accedami in college many game's will be there
Every month we have event's in college's

Dislikes

I have problem in our College with washrooms
Management are not cooperative with student's
The main gate of my college closes very early

My Journey as a Bhavanite

Likes

Faculty is very good. Can learn many things from them. Not only curriculum they also cover out of syllabus also.
College not only gives preference to studies but also sports, NCC, NSS, BSG and many other clubs.

Dislikes

Placements should be more. Most of them are BPO's, not IT related.
Frequently increasing fees of college and examination fee too.

Placement Experience:

Placements opportunity is there but course related opportunity is very low. For every 10 BPO companies there is only 1 IT company. Companies like Deloitte, Verizon, EnergyTech, WeMakeScholars, and so on visited. Highest package according to me is 4.5 lpa lowest package is 3lpa. In our class around 5-6 students got placed out of 50. No plans because it didn't help that much.

Life at Bhavan's Vivekananda college (as a life science student :)

Likes

green campus with variety of trees and students have an oppurtunity to work for society by joining NCC, NSS, YRC ..etc
highly qualified and experienced faculty
good oppurtunities for physical and mental growth

Dislikes

a bit more strict rules are imposed these days
facilities shld be improved like infrastructure, etc
more engaging fests shld be added ...this will help for students in imroving their social skills

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'm pursuing BSc-Bt.G.C (Biotechnology, Genetics and Chemistry). There's a good scope for this course.but our college mostly doesn't have placements for life sciences. but the subject syllabus is good. It even helps in preparing for further entrance exams. exams are a bit difficult. but it all depends on our preparation. even the scoring process is good. we will be having 6 semesters. each semester has 2 internal exams and 1 sem exam.

We have good placement offers. Through placement cell, I got placement in Cognizant. There are many opportunities to grab through this placement. You can grab for the Core and as well Support side. But one should not have any backlogs.

I have best experience with my college.

Placement Experience:

From 3rd semester students are eligible for jobs internships. From 5th semester students are eligible for actual jobs. The highest package as of 2017 is 5 lakhs. The average is 2.8 as of 2017. 50% of students got placed on campus.
