What is a lateral entry course and who qualifies for it?

Lateral entry refers to a student entering college in 2ndyear. This applies to students who have done a 1-year diploma in a particular field. Any student who has passed a diploma exam from a recognized institute with 50% marks in the relevant branch of engineering or technology is allowed to apply to these lateral entry courses offered by Trichy Engineering College.

Is there any relaxation for students having reservations?

Yes, there is a relaxation in terms of TNEA counselling as well as in TANCET counselling. Moreover, the eligibility criteria is also relaxed for students with reservation. For instance, an open category student must have a minimum of 50% in 10+2 exams, for OBC candidates, it is 45% and for SC/ST candidates, it is 40%.

Is there any particular uniform for the college?

No, there is no specific uniform for the college that students have to wear. They can wear formal or semi-formal clothes depending on the occasions.

Are there any diploma courses available at Trichy Engineering College?

No, the college does not offer any diploma courses in engineering. The only two degrees offered by the college are: B.E and M.E. across 6 specialisations and 2 specialisations respectively.

Hostel Facilities:

Separate hostels are provided to boys and girls with well furnished rooms and all the modern amenities. The hostel has 119 rooms enclosing the eight lawns with different varieties of flowers. There is a common room provided for recreational activities and a separate T.V room. Warden's residence and hostel office is located within the campus to look after the students safely and the daily chores of the hostel workers.

In our batch there were many students, who belonged from different casts and religions. Some of them were also from different cities and countries. My college had a big sports ground for the students, The college organised games like volley Ball, Foot Ball, Tennis, Ball Badminton and we indoor games like Chess, Carom, Table Tennis. Campus Life:

The college is very encouraging to promote sports activities for their students. The campus has very nice Indoor facilities for chess, carom, table tennis, volleyball and badminton and out-door facilities for volleyball, football, tennis, ball badminton. our college has a super qualified physical education teacher to train the students.
