Over-all the college Environment is very good with greenish and calm mood. All the facilities are available on campus like bank, xerox, stationery, post office, food court, dispensary, library, wifi facility around campus. Also food is good in hostel

In Hostel there is a Four bed for one room, so 4 persons share 1 room. 2 fans and lights are there. Also a big room is available with some extra cost. There is veg only inside the hostel,but it have good taste compared to othet colleges. The registration process is simple it have done after your admission.

Hostel Facilities:

The hostel facility is quite good but it has some problems too . The hostel food is a reasonable one but for the amount of mess fee the get ..the food can be better . There is no non-veg food provided. The rules in the boys hostel is not so harsh there are no rules to be honest you should be in the hostel within 9 30 pm , which is the only rule

im a hosteller and i had a pretty good experience had some good wibe with our roommates but as time grew my vibe didnt match with their so i had to shift my room to another. A bed will be provided for you which is made of concrete we must buy our own matresses and for bathing you must bring your own bucket and mug etc. For eating buy a plate and a tumbler to take a sip of milk or juice. The food provided here is pure veg and you wont be able to bring non vegeterian food from outside. you can go out on weekends to have some good non veg food if you are fond of meats and stuff. the hostel registration takes place during the admission of the students or you might approach the hostel office by calling them.Cupboards and tables will be provided and the bathrooms are kind off clean as

I prefer college hostel for both girls and boys. Registration are just simple process and the no.of persons to share a room will be 4. Rooms are quite spacious and every person have their individual study table, a chair, a table light,a cupboard, a cot, a fan. It's worth for the fee. Food and food court are so good but it is only vegetarian hostel.But they don't have repeated menu that was good.Evening snacks provided are also good.

And the other is dom in that 15 students can accommodate in the singledom. The food in the hostel was very good. And it is only vegetarian food with various dished.

The hostel is quite big many rooms and dorms. Rooms with 4-bed configuration. There are regular meals. The meals are tasty and hygienic. Milk is available in the mornings and evenings. The hostel can be easily affordable and can be registered during college admission.

Hostel is well built with proper services area and landscape. Bill is 67000 including food. Pure vegetarian hostel. They take good care of us and leave us to our choice of staying there. We can leave hostel anytime we need to go home.

How is college life and hostel life in Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai?

Hostel life in Thiagarajar College of Engineering was a very liberating experience for my cousin who is an alumnus of this institute.

He became a more mature and confident individual in the hostel. His time management improved.
Apart from this valuable learning experience, there is wifi connectivity all over the premises of the campus.
The laboratory facilities are good and there is little to no restriction in the college.
The only rule is to have a minimum attendance of 75%.
Most of the teaching staff are alumni of IIT-M and NIT in Tamil Nadu.
Since the institute is away from the city, the atmosphere of the place is peaceful.

You can surf the internet and attend online lectures in the computer centre in the institute. The institute has become an SOP or Single Point of Contract with all the IITs which will help you in achieving online certificates which can be instrumental in getting placements. Placements are above 90% in the institute.

Every Wednesday is a day kept aside for extra-curricular activities.
Students participating in the NSS and NCC compete for awards like the Anna University Awards every year.
There is a stadium for practicing sports and a gym for the students.
There are also clubs in the college like the yoga club, fine arts club, visual club, short film club, and so on.
There are clubs related to academics as well like the ACM, energy club, robotics club, IEEE club, IE club, etc.

There are some rules in the hostels like the students must return by 9:30 PM. On weekends, students are allowed to roam around Madurai.

I have a friend who is a Thiagarajar alumnus. He had a pretty good experience during his stay at the hostel. Here is his input.

The afternoon lunch at the boy’s hostel is great.
TCE hostels are pretty old and are covered with a lot of trees around. On the west side of the Men’s Hostel, there are mountains. You will be amongst nature.
There is an availability of 24 hour WiFi facilities that help the students in surfing the internet more and more. The maintenance is also pretty good.
The rules at the hostels are not that strict. You have to reach the hostel on or before 9:30 PM other than Saturdays. Permit time for Saturdays is until 2 in the morning.
There’s a grocery store just outside the hostel premises which stays open until late at night.
There’s a Volleyball court and a Shuttle court where you can play any time.

Every college hostel is more or less the perfect place to learn, enjoy and live happily. Thiagarajar hostel is not an exception.
