TERNA Nerul Faculties : Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 80 Reviews

The faculty at the college is diverse, with a mix of experienced and inexperienced teachers. Approximately 80% of the faculty members are pursuing or hold higher degrees, such as PhDs. The faculty-to-student ratio is around 1:12, but it varies, with some classes having a ratio of 1:60. Many faculty members are approachable, friendly, and supportive, particularly those in the Computer Engineering department. Communication skills are identified as an area needing improvement.

Labs are well-equipped, and faculty members are involved in organizing events and providing mentorship. However, there are issues with some faculty lacking industrial experience, inconsistent teaching quality, and faculty turnover. Teaching methods primarily involve PowerPoint presentations, and there is a focus on exam preparation. The syllabus completion rate is around 70%, and exams are structured into midterms and end-terms, with practicals and vivas also included.

Faculty to student ratio is poor, with in and out faculties, and less permanent faculties available, while i won't name certain faculty but there are some who you wouldn't want to be on the cross ends with, if you wanna pass your internal examination

In my opinion the faculty to student is not good, behaviour of some faculty is not good at all. There are some faculty are good and ready for helping student, like lab assistant. I don't want to say name of there but some time there behaviour is not good at all. There are 4 types of exam - IAT-1 & 2, then practical and theoretical exam. Difficulty level is moderate by university of mumbai

For every class, a class instructor is assigned. The class size is 60 to 70 students in a class. Right now I'm in 2nd year, and we have a teacher named saylee narkhade, I like her the most coz she's very supportive, very kind and good human! She helped us alot when our faculty left, she assured us that replacements will be done soon, till then she'd provide the study material.. There are 3 written exams, iat1, iat2 and semester. Practicals and viva are also there! Passing is tough as the college is honest, so 60% students pass and else get failed in any subjects one or two.

Like in first year there are so much good faculty bcoz in engineering at first year there are general subjects to all branch so first' year was very good. From 2nd year onwards we fear little bit at start we struggle to interact with faculty but afterwards we enjoyed it and those teachers help us and we make a bond as like as best teacher students there are some teachers whose teaching skills were good some faculty improve there teaching skill when we compliant that we didn't getting whatever they teaching after they also teach very nicely so at a time of semester exam we didn't get that much stress to study there were so many teachers like Sandeep sir, sneha mam, ankita mam, vishal sir, renuka mam they teach us very nicely and helped us but some Times it's not that we are supposed to be but that was memorable days bcoz now all that faculties leave our college . we don't about that much and now we are waiting for new faculties don't know that new faculties will match us or not let's see

Faculty is good and supportive but some faculty are not supportive they make student afraid of internal marks but this is very less but this is. vijayakumar choudhary sir who give full support to the students they have personally supported me a lot in first year. Namrata madam is for teaching IT department she is supportive she guided me in one memory but also good in teaching I think she taught. They inspire out-of-syllabus activities, projects such as hackthons, programming competitions etc. Exams are conducted as per the rules of Mumbai University in two units in a semester one after covering 40% of the syllabus and the other after covering 80%.A student who studies a little every day and attends all the lectures easily passes. A twenty way exam consists of two main exams and the passing is of eight marks.
