SJCE Mysore Admission 2025

SJCE Mysore offers admissions to various courses at the UG and PG levels in different specializations. Admission to UG and PG programs is based on relevant entrance exams, followed by centralized counseling processes. The annual fee for B.Tech is approximately INR 1.16 Lakhs to INR 2.66 Lakhs per year, and for PG courses, it ranges from INR 60,000 to INR 1.2 Lakhs, depending on the specialization. SJCE Admissions to various programs are as follows:

For admission into B.Tech, the selection of the candidate is based on marks scored in the KCET or COMEDK entrance exam, followed by the KEA and COMEDK counselling processes, respectively. Candidates must pass class 12 with Physics, Maths, Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology as compulsory subjects with at least 45% marks. 5% of the seats are filled under the management quota.
For admission to B.Tech Lateral entry, candidates must pass a Diploma with a minimum of 50% marks in the relevant branch. Admission is based on the DCET exam, followed by KEA Counselling.
Admission to M.Tech is based on GATE or PGCET entrance exams, followed by the KEA Counseling process. Candidates must have a B.E./B.Tech/ AMIE degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 50% marks.
Admission to the MCA is based on the PGCET or KMAT entrance exam, followed by the KEA Counseling for 50% of the seats. The remaining 50% are filled through the Management quota. Candidates must have studied Maths at 10+2 or graduation level and should have 50% marks in their degree.
Admission to the MBA is based on the Karnataka PGCET MBA entrance exam, followed by KEA counselling for 50% of the seats. The remaining 50% are filled through the Management quota. Candidates should have at least 50% marks in graduation.

Campus- The campus of Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering spans 117 acres of land with several recognizable buildings.
Student Clubs- The institute owns several student clubs, which are responsible for conducting many debates and discussions on campus. These clubs aim to encourage students to step outside their comfort zone and participate in different events that they wouldn’t otherwise.
Sports- Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering has an outstanding facility for games and sports to keep its students physically active and strong. The games include table tennis, basketball, football, volleyball, cricket, throwball, and many more.
Student Welfare- The institute hosts different literary and cultural events to foster the cultural talent of the students. Cultural events like JAYCIANA, SAMSKRUTHI, and literary events like SHABD are hosted, where students are required to participate and showcase their talent.
Hostel- The institute has separate hostels for boys and girls on the campus. The boys' hostel has a total accommodation of 700 students, and currently it facilitates 645 students. The girls' hostel has an accommodation capacity of around 200 students, and currently, 160 students are residing at the campus and Hootagalli hostel. My experience of pursuing Computer Science Engineering at SJCE Mysore

Likes

The first thing apart from academics that attracted me was the lush green campus.It is a 117 acres of pure Beauty.This plays a huge role in detoxifying oneself.
The structured curriculum and well educated staff.Well qualified staff teach the students various subjects and leave no room for doubt.
The placement cell is very active and continuously brings offers for the students.

Dislikes

The hassle for reevaluations.despjte being easier and well sought compared to other vtu colleges this process may cost one and also create hassles.
It might be the issue for most of the colleges but a minor discomfort is the concept of attendance which has to be satisfied to a minimum criteria which maybe 75% or varied for various branches.

Placement opportunities in the campus and average package

The campus placements are decent despite the market going into recession the placement cell is very active and continuously brings offers.The average package for the CS department can be 12lpa also my plans after the degree would be to get a job and work for a few years later pursue an MBA.

Internship opportunities in various organization and stipend

Internships are given by various companies few being Fidelity,wdc, Deloitte,visa,moody, NetApp and so on.the trend seen nowadays in internships is 10-11 months internship before placements.These are offered by the company for which the stipend can range from 30000/- to 50000/- per month.

Academic structure and curriculum in the campus

I have chosen this course because it integrates both technological subjects as well as provided business insights by including subjects such as management, finance and also educates in the concept of constitution.all these subjects play a major role in preparing the student to face the real world making them practical as well.But the cons maybe cumbersome subjects.Each semester may consist of a mixture of various subjects from various domains thus being difficult to grasp for some.

Course free structure with the scholarship

The fees is different for different categories mine being general and through merit i had to pay 101163/-.Various scholarships are also available depending on the students satisfiability with the laid down constraints.I found the courses to be generally affordable considering the fact that scholarships are also available.Some scholarships are SSP and many other scholarships are available.For a general candidate Tution fees are 62073/- and other fees are 39090/-.other details can be viewed on the official website of the college.

Various fest, clubs and library of the campus

The campus has a variety of clubs such as technical clubs including CSI,Linux campus club etc and also clubs like sahas adventure club,shadb literature club etc.it provides the student with a variety of opportunities to showcase their passion and fulfill their hobbies.the campus also has a full fledged library where books can be borrowed.The college has an annual fest called Jayciana which is a colorful and entertaining event which has various parties,dance night and many more events.various tech fests and club fests are also conducted.

Faculty and learning experience in the campus

All the faculties that teach in the college are well qualified some being PhD holders as well thus imparting immense knowledge.Teachers are easily approachable considering one can ask doubts or clear concepts either in the class which itself is interactive or can approach the teachers in their respective cabinets.

Admission process and eligibility criteria of the college

I had got my admission to the college through KCET.while COMEDK can also get you a seat in the institute.I had secured a rank of 4294 in the KCET exam which gained me a merit seat in general category for CSBS.The admission process was hassle free as after the exam the college is allocated and one can visit the allocated centre with the documents mentioned and complete the admission process.

Campus environment and management is so cool and faculty over SJCE college is so confederate and can help students in any situation regarding studies,each department has good teaching staf .they organise more cultural activities and sports apart stud
Extracurricular activities, sports dance

Dislikes

This year they didn't conduct any college fest
Class rooms should improve little and benches also
And labs should improve little but comparatively fine

Admission:

Cutoff will be there for each branch Fee varies depending upon it Reservation is not available Exams will be quite easy if you prepared well because they teach very well and duration is reasonable in our college

Admission process in our college was not so difficult as the teachers are seperately alloted in order to guide the students for admission process each section of process will be guided throughout we have seperate reservations like OBC where in fee reduction So the fee structure in our college has 2 parts which included aided and unaided I would like to give information about aided where in the fee has to be paid in two divisions one for bank and the other for college we will pay to the college as building fund the admission process will be easier as faculties present in the admission section will help us and guide us

College environment as it is filled with more number or trees and greenery

Dislikes

Washroom cleanliness is not maintained which is difficult for us to use it
Cultural activities is not much in our college this year
College hours will be hectic like from 7.30 morning to 5.30 in evening it should be reduced

Admission:

So if we are here for admission through KCET then we should have recieved an email saying that we are selected for this particular college and then we have to proceed so it won't be difficult for the admission as the people around the campus will help and guide us in each step through our admission.

Electronics and Instrumentation branch is truly underrated!

Likes

Infrastructure is good. Instrumentation labs are in golden jubilee block
Research is going on in biomedical instrumentation

Dislikes

Sports facilities is not great needs improvement

Admission:

The admission process to this branch will be based on KCET only. Eligibility is 12th pass in science stream and should a Karnataka student to write kcet. The cutoff for this branch is higher than electronics and communication and electrical engineering due to a lack of information about this branch.

My application process was a bit difficult process because I had been through an entrance exam to join the engineering course in this college the exam I have been through had a rank as not expected and crossed over 3 rounds of seat allotment for BE in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering the cutoff was about 60000 in the third round. After the third round, I was placed in this college luckily and the admission process was fast enough and got admitted in 2 to 3 hours then I started my course the very next day.
