Shah And Anchor Admissions 2025 FAQs

Ques. Are JEE Mains and MHT-CET both applicable for B.Tech admissions into SAKEC? Which is easier?

Ans. Yes, both JEE Main and MHT-CET are applicable for B.Tech admissions at SAKEC. Candidates need 45% in 10+2 (PCM) and a valid score in either exam. MHT-CET is generally considered easier as it follows the Maharashtra State Board syllabus, has lower competition, and no negative marking, unlike JEE Main, which covers a broader NCERT syllabus with higher difficulty and negative marking.

Ques. What B.Tech specialisation in SAKEC can I expect to get admitted into with a rank of 200,000 in JEE Main?

Ans. With a JEE Main rank of 200,000 (approximately 80–85 percentile), admission to SAKEC is unlikely for popular specializations like Computer Engineering or IT (cutoffs around 90–95 percentile). You may have a chance for Electronics & Telecommunication or Electronics & Computer Science, which had lower cutoffs (e.g., 66.67–94.04 percentile in MHT-CET 2023).

Ques. Can I get into M.Tech at SAKEC with GATE rank of 75,000?

Ans. A GATE rank of 75,000 is too low for M.Tech admission at SAKEC. SAKEC accepts GATE or MHT-CET scores for M.Tech in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, and Electronics Engineering. Typical GATE cutoffs range from 350–500 marks (top 5,000–10,000 ranks) for general category. MHT-CET cutoffs for 2024 were 4.67–8.38 marks. With a 75,000 rank, admission is unlikely.

SAKEC Admissions: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 97 Reviews

Admissions for the B.Tech (Artificial Intelligence & Data Science) at Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, an autonomous institute, are primarily through the MHT-CET or JEE Mains scores. The centralized admission process is done through the CAP Rounds conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra. A decent score starts around the 80th percentile in MHT-CET for various branches, but computer engineering often requires at least a 90th percentile, with competitive admissions requiring closer to a 94th percentile.

For Gujarati minority students, there is a special quota, and while there is no management quota, reserved quotas exist for other categories within the CAP process. Post-CAP Round, vacant seats are filled through ACAP Rounds, with application details available on the college website. Although the admissions process can be demanding, SAKEC facilitates it by forming WhatsApp groups to assist applicants. Despite some candidates listing it as a backup, the college boasts recognized placement and internship opportunities, supported by robust faculty involvement.

Although higher cutoffs are noted due to its autonomy, the college’s ROI and comparative locality safety have been favorably highlighted. Candidates prefer MHT-CET given its prominence in admissions decisions. The thorough admissions process ensures a meritorious student body, contributing to the college’s reputation among mid-tier Mumbai institutions.

However I was admitted to VIT, still i chose SAKEC because it is near to my home and it has comparitively safer locality. Addmission process is same what you follow in any other college in cet. You need to score atleast 94 in mht cet to get into computer engineering in SAKEC. you can even get through jee mains. Tho cet is most preferred by studdents. The addmission process was smooth with all staff and faculty ready to help us.

On the list of colleges, I guess Shah & Anchor Kutchi Engineering College stands way ahead of clgs like BVCOE, A.C. Patil College of Engineering, Terna Engineering College, Atharva College of Engineering, Saraswati College of Engineering. I chose this college as it's location is good and ROI is also good. In my opinion SAKEC comes after VESIT, VIT but better than rest colleges of Mumbai in the mid category after VJTI, SPIT, ICT. Though cutoff of Shah & Anchor Kutchi Engineering College is increased from this year probably due to Autonomy.
