There are good opportunities for placements after B.Tech in Surface Coating Technology. Most of the top paint companies' recruits graduate from here. The regular recruiters are Berger Paints, Kansai Nerolac Paints, Asian Paints, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, BASF, PPG Asian, Axalta coatings, FIAT, Godrej & Boyce and many more. In our batch, all of the students got placed in good companies and got the lowest package of 4 LPA and the Highest package of 8 Lakhs. Most of the students go into research & development for automotive paints or decorative paints. Some of the students join the paint manufacturing, technical services & sales for paints. Roles offered are Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET), R&D officer, Quality Control Officer, Sales Officer, Technical Service Officer/Executive & Researcher-I.

For B.Tech students, LIT is the best Institute in Maharashtra in terms of the placement. There was almost 100 % placement of all the eligible B.Tech students, before the COVID pandemic. I have seen students getting 15 - 16 LPA package from the Institute when I was not a student there. But since I joined, the highest package was around 6 - 7 LPA. Average package, on the other hand was around 3.5 - 4.5 LPA. For M.Tech students, when I was a student there, the placement was 50 %. The highest package a student got was 6.5 LPA and the average package was around 5 LPA

Almost 100% of students are placed in chemical engineering. Exception if someone decided to go for higher studies, etc.

The placement record in LIT is good. You can check the number of placements on the official website of the college. This is the best college for chemical engineering and technology. College has good placements for chemical engineering as well as chemical technology. Placement record of college from the year 2000 is given on college's official site litnagpur. In. From the last couple of years LIT made histroy in campus placements. In current session 2017-2018 almost all the eligible students I. e. 95% students chemical engineering got placed in well known companies. Top recruiters in LIT are Reliance, TATA motors, Mahindra, BPCL, HPCL, NFIL, HONEYWELL, THERMAX, BURGER PAINTS, FAIT, ADANI, JK PAPERS, ITC, etc.The average CTC is around 4 lpa and the highest is 10 lpa.Roles offered is mostly chemical engineer or sales related.
