I couldnt apply to many colleges, since my score wasnt upto mark. This college was like a second chance. I have seen students with marks as low as ground accepted into this college. Admission is altough completely merit based, just with less marks there is a possibility of not securing your wanted branch.

Likes

The internet services in college are not that great , the teachers could be better but they try their best
College have so many opportunities, clubs and everything is good for participation
The mentorship quality is good teachers try the better they could, can be improved

Dislikes

Internet quality, internal marks issue and washrooms
Internet gets blockes and can't be done anything without wifi sometime wifi don't work too
Internal marks are hard to gain , we need to do the better we can still we don't get those marks properly

the journey to somaiya college

i am amazed by the campus and the way it is maintained and kept clean
the manner they teach the student and interact with them . they also help us is difficulty we face during the course
paper pattern they give us to write the paper is of 50 marks written and 50 internal and 5 marks min qestion and 10 marks max question and total 28 in written to pass and total 40 to pass

Dislikes

the time they have events and seminar it cannot be attended due to clash of lecture or practical
the schoralship is provided based on the merit
the parking is limited due to large crowd with vechile

i had applied in vidyalankar and sabo siddque. i got accepted i sabo siddue but i choose somaiya college because campus and placment are excellent in somaiya. i got rejected from vidyalankar college due to insufficient aggregate in diploma the admission process for it course is easy just apply for course at somiaya website and the course will be alloted based on merit of exam you have given

The world class sports facilities and infrastructure are a huge benefit for all people who have a love for sport, the coaches are experienced and ready to teach anyone who is willing to go and learn.
The live projects and capstone projects, Somaiya having such a huge ecosystem of its own, enables them to offer great opportunities in these places as well to the students.
The varied clubs and committees provide a ground for students to exercise and develop their leadership and team building skills.

Admission:

I chose KJ Somaiya cause of the opportunities of holistic development, included but not limited to sports and live projects. The faculty and the campus are also great add ons. Somaiya has a huge campus almost in the heart of the city.

THE TRUTH ABOUT KJ SOMAYA

When it was about admission it was all good all the staff members were nicee
The campus the children the area is very good and ambiance is nice
Teacherss are very very good and they are helpfull and understanding

Dislikes

Seniors control over the college as if their dad owns it
High fees are taken but the service provided doesn't match the fees at allll
It veryyyyyy stronggg and dangerous people

I applied for feweer Colleges but not in Mumbai this was the only college i applied in Mumbai outside Mumbai i applied in Chennai Delhi Bhopal etc but as my parents suggested not to go far away and stay here I got approval too from many of them but when they saw I got approval in kj they said it's nice get this college u can stay here , addmission process is like hetciccccc like I have no words it soo bad , 70% I might say to be eligible cutoff for these exams are not that much so you can be chill bro

A solid and great coding culture you will get a good culture in this college specifically in comps and it department
Good exposure , you will get a good exposure here as it is in centre of mumbai
good internship opportunity , as there is an compulsory internship program

campus crowd , campus crowd is generally spoilt rich brat
competition , there is competition in every thing here example getting into any clubs
overpriced canteen , mostly food here are overpriced

this college was connencted and have a pretty good college as compared to any college i was geeting and have a good alumni connect and really good companies visits here for placements and internship and have a good exposure to everything

Good crowd as most of the crowd is of Gujarati minority.
Good infrastructure and lab facilities..
Good and supportive teachers and office staff

Dislikes

Placements are decent but if u develop skills u could grab a good job
Sports facilities are not that great but sports tournaments are organised.
Extc and aids departments are not that good

I was actually trying for DJ Sanghvi College of engineering but was not able to get it as i didnt apply for spot or ils round.Mostly in kjsit and djsce cet and jee marks are considered and admissions are done through cap rounds.

KJ SIM review

Likes

emphasis on sports is given. Compulsory sports credit subject is there. Every sport is there including squash and TT and trails happens for this courses to join the team.
committees and clubs are also there for students to join..this leads to overall growth along with academics
intership opportunities are plenty for students of 1st year of MBA

Dislikes

gender ratio is not good in any of the class
hostels are not at par with the fees they take.

Admission:

applied for XIMb and chose not to join it because of its toxic hostel life. It's infamous for the bullying and ragging stories of the hostel.. Hostel life here in KJSIM is quite healthy and chill. Everyone is inclusive and from different culture. Also the city og mumbai was the major factor for joining this college. Admission process consisted of clearing the cut off set by the college and after that WAT and Group discussion and Personal interview. Based on cumulative score of this we are selected

Decent college if you want to stay in mumbai

The best thing in this college is it's large campus which is neat and clean all the time.
Other good thing is updated syllabus. They have industry ready subjects to study
The best thing of this college is that they don't have very strict policy for attendance in the theory lectures. Although students must have to complete their 75% attendance in Laboratory sessions which is good

Dislikes

Examination cell of this college is worst. No proper planning. No timing for exams or for any important work. They do whatever they want to . They give the results very late. And have very complex structure in system. And very rude exam cell head.
Infrastructure is like 40 50 years old. They should really work on it
Some of the faculties are real bad in computer engineering department including the hod. A faculty names starts from G he is the worst. Not teaching in lectures just failing students for his fun.

Admission:

I have given jee exam but score wasn't enough to get in any govt college so after reviewing many colleges i found this one as the better choice as the reputation of this college used to be good in old times not now though. For admission in this college applicants can fill thie application form on the college offical website where they asks for 12th result which is minimum 45% criteria and jee , sat , mht cet and other engineering exams score card.

What is the cutoff for KJ Somaiya Vidyavihar first year engineering? What are the minimum marks in JEE in boards, along with percentile?

I have a few friends from KJ Somiya and they gave me some information regarding the required cutoff at the institute.

The cut-off was apparently on the higher side in the CAP rounds because the institute was granted autonomy very recently. The state merit rank for the mechanical branch was almost around 500 - 1000.
For computer science engineering, the cut-off ranged almost to 1600 - 1800, while it was 3000 - 3500 until CAP-2 with the inclusion of a percentile that was around 96.

It is best that you keep patience until the last counseling round, which is, CAP-3. If you are a general category student then you won’t get selected in CAP-1, you need to wait till the last round or the spot round. Alternatively, you can also go for autonomous colleges instead of university colleges.
