IET Lucknow Faculty: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 270 Reviews

The faculty at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), presents a mix of permanent and contractual members, with permanent faculty in short supply. The average age is approximately 50, with many possessing Ph.D. qualifications, primarily from reputable institutions such as IITs and NITs. The teacher-to-student ratio is around 1:65 to 1:75, indicating a higher number of students per faculty. Although some permanent faculty members are highly knowledgeable and supportive, the contractual faculty often lack the desired level of expertise.

The engineering curriculum includes 120 lectures for M.Tech level subjects, with some professors bringing relevant industrial experience. The Electronics and Communication department has a notable environment for GATE and civil service exam preparations. However, the faculty's teaching quality varies, with some educators being very helpful and experienced, while others are characterized by their lack of engagement and outdated teaching methods. Guest faculties are frequently replaced based on performance evaluations. Despite these challenges, the university offers industry exposure through workshops and collaborations, such as an MoU with TCS, and provides extra classes and support for competitive exams like GATE.

Some branch have all the faculties but for some faculties are unavailable and students have to study by themselves. Even they don't teach good you have to study by your own. Before a semester there are two class test one has to give each giving 20 marks for each subject . Semester exams are quite easier and can be passed easily if one starts studying before 10 days of the exam.

As far as the FTR is concerned, there are almost 20+ faculty members for every 240 students in every department. The student relationship is quite ambiguous with the faculty. Few of them are supportive, the rest of them will test your patience. The pros include the fact that the faculty is quite approachable. The best Faculty there is the department of CSE. They not only allow you to take long leaves but also support you in Internships. About Examinations, the First year will be hectic, but the attendance policy is the game changer.
