If i talk about campus placement of my college then,if you have scored good in all academics then you will get eligible for sitting in campus placments,after that it depends on you how skilled you are.The average package is around 6 -7 LPA and highest package is around 13.5 -14 LPA. From 7th semester you will eligible for campus placement & the companies visited in recent likes Adani,TATA Powers,l & T,TCS,Voltas limited,Argue Software,Scaladge,Texas Instruments,Visa steels etc. The placement ratio is depends on year wise,approximately 60% students get placed from campus placements. IGIT Sarang offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma courses under many technical disciplines. It is the first Government engineering College of Odisha to gain accreditation from the NBA because of its academic excellence.

Placements:

Students become eligible for campus placement from the sixth semester.
Reputed companies like Infosys, TCS, Patni Computers, Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd, Larsen, and Toubro Ltd., etc. visit the campus.
The placement cell was successful in calling 14-15 companies for in campus placements and also conducted many placement drives.
More than a hundred students were placed off-campus, and the new head of the placement cell took charge from July.
TCS was the only mass recruiter of the university and did hiring through National level tests for students who did not have any mass recruiter this year.

The Department of Chemical Engineering at IGIT Sarang has equipped laboratories namely fluid flow lab, chemical technology lab, fuel technology lab, heat transfer lab, mass transfer lab, process control lab, chemical reaction engineering lab, and computer-aided design lab.
The Institute is located in an industrialized belt that possesses different chemical, metallurgical, and power sectors. There is a plentiful possibility for decent cooperation and satisfactory functional education for the students.

Teaching is somewhat good, but it depends on the field you choose because different students have different perspectives on their trade. Metallurgy and Electrical had produced some outstanding students. Many of the faculty members have sufficient knowledge to clear your doubts.

The most important aspect of life at IGIT is that it is a completely new world. Anyone who is unfamiliar with the system may feel anxious at first, but as time passes, you will acknowledge that it is a life-changing four-year journey.

Aside from academics, the college offers sports, photography, literary activities, cultural activities, and so on. Overall, it's a good place to study; the hostel facilities are excellent, and the environment is calm, warm, and welcoming.

As per the listed choices, it would be better to choose Computer Science from Silicon BBS over Chemical at IGIT. The reason is that the faculty of IGIT Chemical engineering is not very impressive. Most of the teachers there are recent graduates recruited due to a lack of qualified faculties.

As the campus of IGIT is isolated from the town, very few companies visit there for the campus whereas, Silicon has a location advantage. It is more like a school as it has strict attendance rules. However, their placement record definitely makes up for it.

The CSE department of IGIT Sarang aims to become a recognized ethical leader in the state of Odisha. The department offers high-quality educational programs in computer science and its applications. It provides high-quality education in the art and science of computing as well as it also prepares students for career opportunities in this area, requiring a high level of technical knowledge and skill. The CSE department develops and administers programs to serve the needs of industrial computer scientists, researchers, and computer application specialist.

The placement statistics for 2019 CSE pass out students stated as follows. T.C.S. didn't visit the college for in campus placement which was the Institute's only mass recruiter. But the students applied at the national level exams conducted by these companies.
The previous year placement cell of the college didn't contact any other company then T.C.S., and the remote location of the college would also be considered as a big issue. Big companies like Deloitte, I.B.M., Robert Bosch, etc. mostly conducted their pool drive in private colleges in Bhubaneswar among which some government colleges for also invited.
IGIT was not asked because the placement cell never contacted them for placements. A new placement cell head was appointed last year, and a lot of steps are still to be taken to improve the placement results.

A friend of mine completed BTech in Electronics and Telecom from IGIT. Here are some of the things that he shared about the institute.

Initially, you will feel the pressure from lots of assignments as assigned but then you will get used to it.
The curriculum followed by the Department takes into account the latest subjects as per the current scenario.
During lab sessions, you will have the guidance of teachers. According to my friend, Sunita ma’am was quite helpful. Some Faculties have exceptional knowledge in the field of Networking and Communication. My friend's guide was also of great help during his project in the final year.
Apart from all this, there is decent placement as well not in terms of quality but quantity. Students get placed in companies such as TCS, Tech Mahindra, and Concept Infoway, etc.

From what I heard, there is not too much pressure from Teachers. You are free to do anything. So, make the most of your time at the institute.
