Girls hostel is 1.5km away from college .

Hostel Facilities:

There are 2 girls hostel in Igit: 1. Rohini Bhawan: For 1st year and 2nd year (BTECH), MCA and diploma students. In btech block we have 3 storey building each floor having four bathroom each containing 3 bathrooms, 3 toilets , 3 wash basins and 1 washing machine. Each floor containg 20 rooms . In each each room there are 6 beds , 3 cupboard containg 12 shelves , 4 tables , 3 fans , 3 lights and 3 windows . We have 1 mess in our hostel and we have water filter in each floor . 2. Prithvi Bhawan is for 3rd year and 4th year BTECH girls . Then there are 6 boys hostel . I live in Rohini Bhawan and food here is really nice and it feels like home . Mess fees is 18500rs per semester .

For 4 years of degree there is different hostels,some of them is well maintained and some of them is average.for 3rd year and final year students the hosetels are well maintained and there is single room provided to final year students(Hostel name - surya bhawan),there is another hostel where both 3rd year and final year students stay.in this hostel ,in a room there is 2 students are stay.overally the hostel meal quality are good. If you want to stay outside the collrge campus then there is also avaolability of room with same price of hostel expesses per year.but for outside staying the cost may be expenssive.

The food is available at affordable rental rates and serves better quality than any other college hostel. You will love the food served here, once you get used to it.

If you are a girl, you have to adjust till 3rd year. For the first 2 years, you will be staying in Rohini Bhawan and the food there is not as good as Prithvi Bhawan. However, you can order in from Jagannath, Brundaban, cafeteria, KFC.

If you are a boy there are various options in or out of campus. You only need to explore.

IGIT Sarang has a total of 8 hostels. 2 hostels are for girls and 6 are hostels are for boys. A detailed description of the hostels is given below:

Girls’ hostel:

Rohini Bhawan: The students of the first and second year live here. The occupancy is 6 students in one room. There have been a few instances of ragging in this hostel, sadly. The quality of food also leaves a lot to be desired.

Prithvi Bhawan: The food is better in this hostel compared to Rohini Bhawan. The students of the third and final year occupy this hostel. The occupancy is 5 students in one room.

Boys’ hostel:

Akaash Bhawan: This is the hostel for first-year students. It has three blocks. Compared to the other hostels, the condition of the rooms is average. This hostel gradually grows on the students. Students will not have to face water problems while they are here. Ragging has also reduced a lot over the years, which is good news.

Aryabhatta Bhawan: This hostel is occupied by the students of the second year. This hotel frequently faces water problems. Even after being cleaned regularly, the washrooms are never in a good condition. The food is good, though.

Bhaskar Bhawan: This is the hotel for third-year students. There is no water problem here and has the best architecture. It is the oldest hostel in the institute. The maintenance and food are not good here.

Surya Bhawan: It is the royal hostel of IGIT. It is occupied by the final-year students of the institute. Students get one room for themselves and there is an endless supply of food. This hostel is good in every respect.

Brahmos Bhawan: This hostel is new and is the best place to live for the occupying students. It is at par with NIT hostels. It accommodates students of institutes like KIIT.

The boys’ hostels include one hostel for diploma students which includes the Agnee Bhawan and the remaining are for MCA and for B.Tech. The condition of the hostels is often not up to the mark, unfortunately.

You probably won’t find a detailed account of the life of a girls hostel at IGIT Sarang anywhere. But, I can definitely give you a brief insight of the same, since I have few friends at the institute.

Freshers are given according to Rohini Bhawan. Rooms at Rohini are 6 sharing. Staying with 6 other people is not easy, so you need to adjust.
There are no attached bathrooms. There are 4 bathrooms in each corner of the 2-storey hostel. Each bathroom has 3 basins, 3 washrooms, and 3 stalls for baths. Bathrooms are cleaned regularly.
Power facilities are good. But there are long power cuts, especially during summer.
Water facilities are not good here. Bring disinfectants like Dettol or Savlon with you if you don’t want to get any skin diseases.

The hostels for the female students are called the Rohini Bhawan and Prithvi Bhawan. The occupancy for the former is 6 students in one room. The hostel is for the first and second-year students.

The Prithvi Bhawan accommodates students who are in their third and final year. The occupancy is 5 students in one room.

The hostel for the first-year students which is more popularly called the Aakash Bhawan accommodates four students in one room. The same can be said for the hostel for the students of the second year which is called the Aryabhatta Bhawan.

The third-year students are allotted the Brahmos Bhawan and the Bhaskar Bhawan. In the former hostel, there are 2 students in one room, and in the latter, there are 4 students.

In the final year, the students are allotted the Surya Bhawan. In this arrangement, 1 student gets one room.
