What's New in College of Engineering And Management, Kolaghat?
- As per the AICTE circular, the last date for direct admission against vacant seats through Decentralized Counselling to various AICTE, Non-AICTE & PCI (UG & PG Courses) has been extended to Oct 23, 2024.
- College of Engineering And Management, Kolaghat is inviting applications for a few vacant seats in the In-House UG/PG Admission 2024 for B.Sc/ BCA/ BBA/ M.Sc/ M.Tech/ MBA/ LLM programs. Candidates can apply from Oct 7, 2024 to Oct 20, 2024. While MBA applications will be accepted from Oct 10, 2024 till Oct 20, 2024. For more detailed information, click here.
- The counselling schedule for candidates allotted seats in MAKUAT through JELET 2024 is released. The first round of counselling/ reporting will be held on October 13 – 15, 2024 and the 2nd round of counselling/ reporting on October 18 – 20, 2024.
- WBJEEB has released the WB JELET Round 1 Counselling Schedule for lateral entry admissions to the Engineering/ Technology/ Pharmacy courses. The registration and choice locking is open till October 6, and the Seat Allotment Results will be released on October 10. The last date for reporting and fee payment against the Round 1 Seat Allotment List is October 15.
College of Engineering and Management is a government-aided engineering college located in Kolaghat, West Bengal. CEMK was established in 1998 with assistance of West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL), an enterprise of the Government of West Bengal. An educational institute with a proven track record of excellence is located within integrated campus of Kolaghat Thermal Power Plant Township of WBPDCL. The college is governed under the Minister in Charge, Department of Power, Government of West Bengal as chairman of the college. CEMK is only engineering college in the country situated within the integrated campus of Govt. Thermal Power Plant. The Institute also received a financial grant from the World Bank-funded TEQIP II programme.
The institute offers six B.Tech courses, to be eligible for the same, the candidates must possess a 10+2 qualification with a minimum of 45% marks in PCM. Admission to the B.Tech. program will be granted on the basis of the candidate’s performance in JEE Main or WBJEE followed by a counseling session conducted by WBJEEB.
The institute also offers direct admission through decentralized counseling. Admission via lateral entry is also applicable based upon the score secured in WBJEE.
The application forms are available online on the institute’s official website although, to register, the candidates must first successfully appear for the entrance exams.

CEMK Kolaghat B.Tech. Eligibility Criteria
- The lower age limit is 17 years as on 31.12.2022. There is no upper age limit.
- Candidate must have passed Qualifying Examination i.e. H.S. (10+2) examination with Physics and Mathematics, along with anyone of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Computer Application as compulsory subject with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode.
- Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserve category e.g. SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC- B, PwD) in the above three subjects taken together.
- Must have passed English in the H.S. (10+2) Examination with at least 30% marks.
- The Board of the said Qualifying Examination must be recognized by the Central Government or State Government concerned.

How To Apply at CEMK Kolaghat?
Admission through on-line counseling:
Candidates, who have qualified in the JEE (Main)-2023 / WBJEE-2023 IIT-JEE (Main) examinations and have been allotted a seat in this college by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board through on-line counseling, will have to report to the College office at Kolaghat for admission within the stipulated time as per WBJEE guidelines.

Admission process requires JEE/WBJEE rank. And according to your rank the department will be allocated to you. The exam contains 70 numbers with 3 hour of time. It is a average examination and normal students can also pass.

Eligibility- candidate must be appeared for JEE/WBJEE . and it's form can be easily available on its site where everything like course details, fee structure, last date everything will be mentioned. The timings of exams will be of 3hr. and difficulty I think that is not very much , if you read 1 month seriously then it will be enough to pass the exam . But I suggest you to read on daily basis . Sometimes admission process is lengthy so it is the area where college have to work

The students have to appear for either the wbjee exam or JEE mains for admission. Last year's cutoff for btech in cse is 30000. Admissions can also be done through jee mains also. The questions of the wbjee exam are based on the class 12 syllabus only.

You need to pass out your. 10+2 with PCM. For this college, you can also take admission through WBJEE and JEE (MAIN). WBJEE fees is 500 Rs, and Jee (main) is around 630 Rs. Both exams are conducted in April and January, respectively. Here, standard reservations are applicable. No, it has a good and easy admission process.

I do west Bengal joint entrance examination then I persue 29000 rank. Then I doing the councelling, through the councelling I get this college and take admission in this college in the department of computer science and engineering.

- I have got a lot of good friends in this college. The people are very helpful and also the teachers are very helpful. Some teachers are very friendly.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure of the college. There's not a lot of things in this college for a good college experience.
- The hostel and mess fees are very high. That's why I am not a hosteller.
Admission:
The admission process was good and easy. It was done online but we had to come to college for one day to complete the admission process. I took West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) Exam then I came to this college. The application form was given on the college website and the application form was to be paid online and the application dates were all had been given online. The timing of the exams happens at the same time every year and the difficulty of the exams vary (sometimes it's easy and sometimes it's difficult) because the question paper are all set by the MAKAUT University. The cut off to get into this college was that you had to be below 30000 rank all of West Bengal to get into Computer Science and Engineering department. I think the Application process is fine and easy and there's nothing for suggestions.

Admission:
I got admission through counselling of joint entrance examination. First i counselling as best my rank over deposit rs. 18362 in selected bank for counselling, firstly i choosen some govt. College, but i Don't get chance there, at a middle i preffer kolaghat college, because it is the nearest from my home, in third counselling i selected by this college. During admission in college i paid due fees.
