Admission to the Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Data Science at Acharya Institute of Technology is primarily through entrance exams such as COMEDK and KCET, with a management quota also available. COMEDK is primarily for non-Karnataka students, while KCET caters to Karnataka residents. For admission, candidates must have completed Class 12 with at least 60% aggregate and 45% in PCM. The COMEDK cutoff generally ranges up to 20,000 in ranks for Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), while for Information Science and Engineering (ISE), ranks can range from 22,000-25,000.
Admission through the management quota is also an option and typically incurs higher fees, around 4 lakhs annually for CSE. The counselling process is conducted in three rounds. The fee for the first year must be paid upon initial round allocation and is refundable only until the second round. Reservation benefits are limited to SC, ST, and OBC students under state quota, with no reservation advantages for COMEDK entrants. Application forms are accessible on the COMEDK website and the admission process is mainly online.
Note that the KCET and COMEDK exams are conducted annually, and the admission procedure is relatively straightforward, facilitated by college support throughout the steps.
