Course Description

In Person:

Candidates can obtain the Application Form in person from the 60 centres (detailed on Anna University’s official website) by paying Rs.500/-(Rs.250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu, on production of a photocopy of the Permanent Community Card or electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate) towards application fee, by cash/demand draft.

By Post:

Application Forms can also be obtained by post from "The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA), Anna University, Chennai-600025" by sending a requisition letter along with a Demand Draft for Rs.700/- (Rs.450/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu with a photocopy of the Permanent Community Card or electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate) and an address label written in capital letters to which the application form is to be mailed

The candidates can also register through internet by logging on to www.annauniv.edu/tnea2015; the procedure for registration is available in the website. All Demand Drafts should be drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions” payable at Chennai, drawn on any Nationalised Bank dated on or after 05th May 2015

Candidates are instructed to write the name and address on the reverse side of the Demand Draft

Application Submission:

Completed the application forms along with the required documents should be mailed in an A4 size envelope to the address:

Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants seeking admission to 4 year Full-time BE Program should meet the following criteria as specified by the institute.

Academic Requirement:

Candidate should be pass in 10+2 with 50% marks from a recognized board

Entrance Exam:

Admission is done through TNEA.

Eligibility

Candidates seeking admissions to full time B.E course must satisfy either of the following criteria:

Must have passed Higher Secondary /10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects
Must have passed Higher secondary Vocational with Mathematics and other vocational subjects
Must have passed Diploma with aggregate in pre-final and final semesters

Aggregate for different categories (Common for all criteria)

OC and other State – 50%
BC – 45%
MBC/DNC – 40%
SC/ST – Mere pass in the exam

Selection Criteria

Admissions are purely made on the basis of merit in qualifying exam followed by TNEA Counselling. For lateral entry to the second year, admissions are done on the basis of marks in diploma.
