Question 1

Which dates should I be aware of while taking admission in Tata Memorial Centre?

Accepted Answer

For MD, track the NEET PG 2026 exam and MCC PG counselling after results. For DM and M.Ch, track NEET-SS dates from NBE and the MCC super specialty counselling that follows. For M.Sc and Advanced Diploma, watch the centre official notifications for the application start and the written test schedule, since those are not tied to a national exam.

Question 2

Is admission to Tata Memorial Centre tough to crack?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it is highly competitive. As a leading cancer institute with limited seats, MD seats need strong NEET PG ranks and DM or M.Ch seats need very high NEET-SS ranks. M.Sc and diploma seats are also competitive because the centre conducts its own test and interview for a small intake.

Question 3

Does Tata Memorial Centre conduct its own entrance test?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but only for M.Sc and Advanced Diploma programmes, which use a written test followed by a personal interview. MD admission is through NEET PG with MCC counselling, and DM and M.Ch admission is through NEET-SS with MCC counselling, so those do not have a separate centre test.

Question 4

What is one thing I should know before taking admission in Tata Memorial Centre?

Accepted Answer

Match your feeder qualification carefully to the specialisation. DM and M.Ch each accept specific MD or MS feeder degrees, and M.Sc accepts a defined list of graduate backgrounds. Applying for a specialisation whose eligibility you do not meet is a common reason candidates are filtered out early.

Question 5

Are stipends available for students at Tata Memorial Centre?

Accepted Answer

MD residents receive a monthly stipend during the residency, and super specialty DM and M.Ch residents may also receive a stipend. Some M.Sc students may get stipends for select programmes. As a central government institute, the centre also keeps tuition fees highly subsidised compared with private health science colleges.

Question 6

What are the fees for postgraduate programmes here?

Accepted Answer

MD fees range from INR 2,70,000 to INR 3,16,500 for three years. DM fees are around INR 2,61,000 for most specialisations and INR 3,45,500 for Medical Oncology. M.Ch fees are around INR 3,46,000, with Head and Neck Surgery at INR 3,91,500. Hostel charges are billed separately.

Question 7

Can final year students apply for the Advanced Diplomas?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Final year students awaiting results may apply provisionally for the Advanced Diploma programmes, provided they meet the eligibility at the time of joining. You will need the relevant B.Sc background in imaging or radiotherapy technology and must clear the centre written test and interview.

Question 8

How are M.Sc seats selected at Tata Memorial Centre?

Accepted Answer

M.Sc selection starts with the centre written test, where you must score at least 50 percent to be called for the personal interview. Final selection is merit based across the test and interview. Keep your graduation documents ready and apply within the window announced in the official notification.
