JJM college review

For 1st year students the faculty is great and approachable to some extent. Campus seems pretty decent. The faculty is great and a handful of them come with their own experience.
Infrastructure is good. Labs are good. Although there is a New building in construction.
Library is really good with ample number of books to refer to

Dislikes

There isn't a college sports ground of any sort

Admission:

Jjm for me was chosen among various other colleges mainly because of its review and it's patient load. During the period of applying for a college I preferred Vydehi in Bangalore over jjm but my rank wasn't high enough to get into Vydehi. Although jjm was put below Vydehi on the priority list for me, I am grateful for getting into jjmmc. I also recommend jjm over other colleges in blr like MVJ, east point,etc. Admission in the college is possible if you fall inside the cutoff category/rank after writing the neet ug examination.

Insights of JJMMC

Likes

Faculty expertise and teaching methods are excellent.Highly experienced mentors are there for guiding.
Opportunities for research works in various fields are available and guided by our mentors for same
Laboratories are highly furnished and functional.Classrooma are spacious and digital screens and big sitting area for students.

Dislikes

In extracurricular activities, college mainly appreciate sports over fests ,festival celebrations etc
There is Language barrier for non Kannada students in postings and classrooms so they have to learn kannada as swiftly as possible
There is no availability of internship for non karnataka students yet.

I did apply in All India Counselling. But didn't get a seat because of insufficient marks, the ones i get a seat were not feom my selected ones I choose this college among other selected colleges because of its good reputation, relatively less fess, association with government College and also after talking to some seniors. The other colleges that i applied to have higher cutoff, hence i was not able to get a seat in them. Admission process- karnataka is an open state for counselling for all india students.form is filled online and get college according to their ranks.I got this college in mop up round (last round). After getting the college we have to go to KEA karnataka for submitting our tuition fees as DD and documents then after clearing all things we go to our college , there we fill admission form and submit rest documents and pay other fees.Exam accepted for college is NEET only.cutoff is around 600 marks out of 720.overall admission process is good but little bit hectic

The teaching staff is on average very skilled in each department of the 1st year. Concepts can be easily grasped and understood. Emphasis on application skills is present.
The area is relatively safe even for girls even late at night.
For anatomy there are sufficient number of cadaveric specimens for exam and dialy studying. A very huge advantage not found in all colleges

Admission:

The admission process is via KEA. The reasons for choosing JJM over other colleges is because of its reputation over the years, its very high patient inflow and exposure to various kinds of cases at UG level itself. It is academically well reputed as well. Networking is made a lot easier thanks to the large alumni base.

Academics, sports opportunities, labs - 9/10
clinical exposure - 8/10 (both private and govt hospitals linked to the college so patient load is very high)
multiple hostels to choose from for girls and freedom to not opt for hostel

Dislikes

college campus is small with new buildings under construction
General hostel for boys is outdated, though new construction in progress
tier 2 city creates less happening city life

Admission:

College one of the oldest and best among other colleges of karnataka (both private and govt included) patient to bed ratio higher than other hospitals, plus greater exposure to diverse clinical cases. Eligibility includes clearing neet with a minimum of rank of 42k, as per 2023 trend for private quota seat. Admission via registration to KEA under karnataka government.

The faculty strength is very good and there are range of options.
The patient inflow is very high.You get a very good clinical exposure

Dislikes

There is a new building but remaining structures are quite old.
There are more pros compared to the cons.
The strength is quite high so individual attention is difficult.

The eligibility of the course is through UG-NEET.Our exam was conducted by NTA. The counseling processes are either All India or through KEA. We have to apply for counseling process. Based on the marks different colleges will be available Usually the General merit cut off is 45k rank in NEET Private seat is normally 80k Management seat you just need to qualify NEET

No campus quite far from hostel to college
No places to hangout around Davangere not so supporting summer
Very few extra curricular activities no college canteen

A minimum 570 should be scored if you want to get a free govt seat in college for the general category All application forms are filled in the college itself in administration block You'll get a good facility there Library books can be taken home for a specific category

Good patient input attached to government hospital
Good clinical exposure best professors and clinicians

Less cultural programmes very few extra curricular activities
No campus as such college and hostel are quite far
Interns who come in private seat usually get very less stipend or sometimes no stipend

Admission:

Eligibility of course - clear the neet exam Application procedure and process - KEA Website karnataka examination authority Reservations 40% government seats which include general obc SC ST rural and so on 40% private seats half of them reserved for karnataka students and rest half is open for everyone which is selected through All India quota Remaining seats are management quota seats

The big library which we can get easy access.
Clinical exposure in the hospital is good because it is attached to district government hospital.
Friendly teachers and seniors who always support you .

Dislikes

No proper construction of toilets and their maintenance.
Very strict attendance should be maintained.
Fest should be conducted every year but it is conducted every 2 years

Admission:

Eligibility is to clear the NEET UG Entrance exam. Available on the Kea website while counseling. Reservation for OBC, SC, ST, Rural, Kannada medium till 10th std, Hyderabad, Karnataka quota. No improvement in the admission process. Very good clinic exposure.

Admission:

You need to secure an appropriate score in NEET examination for admission. Which at this time is about above 570. Everything to get into the procedure of admission is on the KEA website. The only problem you might face can be the language barrier during the admission process.

Admission:

My admission was done based on my neet score through kea counselling through private quota. Kea's website has all the details regarding the procedure. The additional kea registration fee will be charged. The counselling start usually 1-2 months after the neet result is out. The student must be qualified in neet to be eligible. For non-Karnataka students, only private and management seats are available
