University of British Columbia is one of the top Canadian University and I was told that Engineering school in UBC is excellent overall. Another reason is that I lived in Vancouver so I wanted to go to a close college/university and UBC was the best option in Vancouver area. Therefore I chose the University of British Columbia.

The University of British Columbia was my absolute top choice for three reasons. 1. They offered me a substantial scholarship that would cover 40 percent of my entire international student tuition fee. 2. Sauder School of Business at UBC offers an amazing business Co-op Program, having companies like Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Sony come to campus. Pursuing co-op would allow me to graduate with a year of work experience and possibly a pre-placement offer from such firms. 3. UBC is known for having an extremely diverse student body alongside recruiting amazing, top of their field faculties.

I chose this university because of its faculties and reputation all over the globe. It's one of the high-ranking universities with great placement opportunities and many big companies like google, amazon, Microsoft, SAP visit the campus. Research opportunities and culture are great. The university also provides co-op opportunities after completing one year of the degree program which helps gain experience even while studying.

I chose UBC for its flexibility in switching between faculties and programs. I wasn't sure I wanted to major in science at the time of applying. After my second year of university, I ended up switching to another faculty and pursuing another major. I also chose UBC for its international student support and inclusive culture. It also has a very beautiful campus which is one of its main attractions (surrounded by ocean and mountains). UBC is one of the top 3 Canadian universities and is on the west coast making its weather very adjustable.

UBC is a very diverse and supportive community where everyone can feel free to pursue their passion. I'm fascinated with the versatility and applications of computer science. My program offers me the platform to apply it in business settings and bridge the gap between business and technology. It is also competitive and offers great job opportunities.
