What students say about Royal Roads University

Likes

  • It is also considered a young university that is still trying to expand its operations.
  • We all are finding it very difficult to compete with people who are from better universities and have better credibility.
  • The university has the famous Hatley Castle and also has its own lagoon, which is the best place to chill.
  • The other dormitory is more affordable and also has private rooms, but it has shared kitchen and bathroom facilities on every floor.
  • Experienced and professional staff are perfectly equipped to handle and operate diverse classrooms, such as a multicultural workforce.
  • The knowledge gained, the outcomes achieved, the supportive community, the people of Victoria, and the campus environment all contributed to a memorable and enriching journey.

Dislike

  • The university also has a job portal, but the number of job postings on it is very limited

  • Probably the lack of industries can be quite a challenging part, but my suggestion would be to start early, as in a year before graduation, make sure to apply for internships in firms, do some volunteer work, and apply your education to something practical. This way, you will understand what you are studying and eventually choose a field that is best for you and society.

It was a bittersweet experience due to the strict rules and high level of rigor compared to other universities. Despite pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), the courses often felt more akin to an MBA program. The university emphasized pragmatism and enforced strict adherence to it. However, aside from these challenging moments, everything else about the experience was sweet. The knowledge gained, the outcomes achieved, the supportive community, the people of Victoria, the campus environment – all contributed to a memorable and enriching journey.

  • The location is a bit odd and far. Away from city but very pretty as well. Blessing and a curse.

It is quite an experience, you have to be prepared at all times. It tries you mentally and physically. There is an excitement. You need to feel it to understand I think.

  • This university is a B grade university whom no one in Victoria knows let alone Canada. The program heads are usually very strict and personally I felt are racist. My whole batch had 16 Indians 7 Chinese and 12 Canadians surprisingly onlt the canadians used to score 90 or above and rest all scored below 85 and this went on for 2 years. There was no action taken when we wrote to the instructors. Apart from the MGM program no program is recognized or have any value. Please choose UVIC or Camosen college if coming to Victoria.

The college just helped me enter Canada and also enjoyed the city Victoria which is very beautiful apart from that everything is poor.

The program was interdisciplinary and applied. In addition, it was designed for working professionals and delivered distanced (for the full program or majority of it) so students could work and didn't have to stay in Victoria throughout their study period.

Gave me an opportunity to use my previous work experience as a qualifying factor as I had a huge gap in education.

Affiliation with the government provided the basis for genuineness and good reputation. The affordability along with the unique programs and preferred courses helped me make up my mind for this university.

1. I was accepted for a master's program at a University without GMAT. 2. The length of my program was just 18 months. 3. I was eligible for direct admission and I wasn't required to take any pre-masters course. 4. After completion of this course, students receive 3 year of Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). 5. The university is situated in one of the most beautiful places in the country.
