Mount Saint Vincent University offers 45+ named scholarships, of which 15+ are accessible to Indian applicants. Every admitted student with an 80% Grade 12 average draws from a CAD 3 million entrance-award pool at Mount Saint Vincent University. Marquee Canadian-only awards like the Harrison McCain Scholarship (CAD 16,000 / INR 11.01 Lakhs) still skip Indian passport holders.
- Standard undergraduate tuition 2026-27: CAD 20,766 (INR 14.29 Lakhs) for a 10-course full year.
- With an automatic entrance scholarship: Effective annual outflow drops to about CAD 18,000 (INR 12.38 Lakhs).
- Entrance award plus Student Leadership Award: Free residence worth CAD 8,000 (INR 5.50 Lakhs) pulls total study cost under INR 11 Lakhs per year.
- Next hard deadline: Tentative March 1, 2027 for entrance scholarships tied to the September 2027 intake (annual cycle).
Currency Note: All INR conversions use the live rate of 1 CAD = INR 68.80 as of August 2026. "Automatic" means the applicant is considered for the award on the strength of the admission file, with no separate scholarship form.

Mount Saint Vincent University Scholarships for UG Students
Indian undergraduates at Mount Saint Vincent University tap the CAD 3 million entrance-scholarship pool through the automatic route. The threshold is 80% on the top five Grade 12 academic subjects, English mandatory. Each IB, AP, or Advanced Level paper adds a 1% bonus.
| Scholarship | Value CAD (INR) | Indian-Applicant Route | Deadline |
|---|---|---|---|
| Automatic Entrance Scholarships (pool) | CAD 500 to CAD 3,000 typical (INR 34,400 to INR 2.06 Lakhs) | Auto-considered on 80%+ best-five Grade 12 average; no separate form | Tentative March 1, 2027 (annual admission) |
| Diamond Jubilee Entrance Scholarships (18 named awards) | Published on award letter (typically CAD 1,000 to CAD 3,000 / INR 68,800 to INR 2.06 Lakhs) | Automatic for 80%+ Indian entrants; most awards do not exclude international students | Tentative March 1, 2027 |
| Alice Egan Hagen Jubilee Scholarship in Science | Published on award; renewable up to 3 consecutive years at 3.5 GPA | Auto for Indian Science entrants meeting the 80% threshold | Tentative March 1, 2027 |
| Student Leadership Award | Full residence room, roughly CAD 8,000 to CAD 9,000 per year (INR 5.50 to INR 6.19 Lakhs) | Requires supplemental application with leadership record; open to Indians | Tentative March 1, 2027 |
| President’s Scholarship | Highest single entrance award at Mount Saint Vincent University (value confirmed on offer) | Limited seats; 80%+ plus documented community or school contribution | Tentative March 1, 2027 |

| Shirley (Aqui) Forde Philippines Scholarship | Value published on award | Not open to Indians (Philippines nationals only) | Tentative March 1, 2027 |
The best-five calculation matters. An Indian CBSE student at 76% aggregate can still cross the 80% bar by dropping the two weakest scores. English must clear the cutoff, and Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology will usually be the trimmed set.
Named awards without a country restriction do get pushed toward Canadian residents in practice. The entrance-scholarship pool is the reliable path for Indian applicants. Confirm your admission file, mark-sheet, and course-equivalence documents reach the Admissions Office by the March 1 cut-off.
Mount Saint Vincent University Scholarships for PG / Master’s Students
Master’s-level funding is more welcoming to Indian applicants than the undergraduate pool. Every graduate scholarship listed below accepts international students. One is reserved exclusively for them.
| Scholarship | Value CAD (INR) | Indian-Applicant Route | Award Cycle |
|---|---|---|---|
| International Graduate Student Scholarship | Confirmed on offer letter each September | Reserved for full-time international Master’s students; separate application via Graduate Studies | Awarded September, annual |

| Women and Gender Studies Graduate Scholarship | Confirmed on award | Master of Arts, Women and Gender Studies acceptance letter | Automatic |
Reddit Insight: Indian applicants on r/gradadmissions flag that Mount Saint Vincent University rarely publishes dollar values for named awards. Past cohorts report CAD 2,000 to CAD 8,000 (INR 1.38 to INR 5.50 Lakhs) on the International Graduate Student Scholarship alone.
Thesis-based programmes at Mount Saint Vincent University attract the deeper funding stack. The thesis stream opens up Harvella, Graduate Entrance, and the NS Research and Innovation Scholarship. The coursework track for the MA or MSc in Applied Human Nutrition cannot access any of the three.
India-Specific Scholarships at Mount Saint Vincent University
Mount Saint Vincent University does not run a country-branded scholarship for India in 2026-27. The closest country-earmarked award, the Shirley (Aqui) Forde Philippines Scholarship, is closed to Indian passport holders.
Indian students should stack three layers instead. The playbook below is the one families in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Chandigarh use.
- Layer 1 (at admission): Automatic Entrance Scholarship, worth CAD 500 to CAD 3,000 (INR 34,400 to INR 2.06 Lakhs) with a March 1 admission deadline.
- Layer 2 (India-side): Inlaks Shivdasani Scholarship, KC Mahindra Scholarship for Post-Graduate Studies Abroad, or JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship.
- Layer 3 (Canadian government or provincial): Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarship for Master’s students (thesis route), disbursed through Mount Saint Vincent University.
Reddit Insight: Halifax residence rooms at Mount Saint Vincent University run CAD 8,000+ per year. That makes the Student Leadership Award far bigger than its zero-cash sticker suggests. Indian scholarship threads on Reddit rank it above the Diamond Jubilee awards on rupee-value grounds.
Cost anchoring matters. Model the funded outflow against baseline tuition before locking in a deposit.
Mount Saint Vincent University PhD Scholarships
Mount Saint Vincent University is a Master’s-granting institution and does not offer PhD programmes in 2026-27. Indian applicants targeting a doctorate in Halifax normally route through neighbouring Dalhousie University or Saint Mary’s University.
For students who finish a Master’s at Mount Saint Vincent University and move to a Canadian PhD, the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship becomes relevant. It carries CAD 50,000 per year for three years (INR 34.40 Lakhs per year, INR 1.03 Crore total). Indian doctoral candidates are eligible when nominated by the host institution.
Two other doctoral options open once Indian scholars enrol at a PhD-granting Canadian university. Trudeau Foundation Doctoral Scholarship pays CAD 40,000 per year (INR 27.52 Lakhs). Tri-Council awards from SSHRC, NSERC, and CIHR pay CAD 21,000 per year (INR 14.45 Lakhs). None of these three apply while enrolled at Mount Saint Vincent University itself.

| JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship | INR 1 Lakh to INR 10 Lakhs per applicant | Indian graduates for higher studies abroad; means-tested | Tentative March 24, 2027 |
| Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship | CAD 50,000 per year x 3 years (INR 34.40 Lakhs per year) | Doctoral only; not available while at Mount Saint Vincent University; applies at PhD-granting host | Tentative November 3, 2026 (annual internal nomination) |

Ans. It is the only Mount Saint Vincent University award reserved for full-time international Master’s students, disbursed in September each year. - My chosen program curriculum is designed such well manner with the opportunity to learning with small peers and amazing professor student ratio in a class with spectacular east coast views of Canada.
I love being east coast with beautiful water views and amazing classrooms with excellent teachers and wonderful peers.
Scholarship
Yes. An entrance scholarship in which required my GPA be 3.3 or above after my first year In order to renew it. I had a 3.2 so I just missed it. I think they set the bar a bit high for that. The first year is all new and is tough. Should start at 3.0 then go to 3.3 for third-year renewal maybe. Also, I have gotten an in-class bursary.
It is very small and intimate, being from a small town that is important. MSVU also has a well-known psychology program, which is what I wanted to take. I love the location, and everything about it there (except for the awful parking).
