- This course is for people seeking to make the transition from a science or mathematics-based career to become an engineer, or who already have an engineering degree and would like to change paths to a different specialisation.
- Develop specialised technical knowledge in geomechanical engineering to help you transition to an engineering career.
- You’ll learn to examine soil and rock layers and determine their physical and chemical properties to design foundations and earthworks structures.
- Areas of study include environmental geotechnics, rock engineering, civil engineering and engineering behaviour of soils.
- You will complete:
- 20 x core units
- 1 x elective unit
- 1 x specialist elective unit
- a minimum of 2 x project or research pathway units
- This course has a professional practice component that is usually undertaken over 12 weeks.

Academic Eligibility:
- An Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree in the relevant discipline with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification or
- An Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent, and
- Five years relevant professional work experience

- Students must hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree in the relevant discipline.
