  • The percentage of graduates securing jobs within the first six months would be 70%. But you need to be aware this percentage includes Australians too.
  • The average salary would range from $65,000 to $75,000 per annum for a graduate in my field.
  • Students can find jobs by applying to vacancies on job portals such as Seek and Indeed. You need to connect with your professors too and ask for assistance if they know people in the industry. Networking on LinkedIn would help too but it is a hard process; you need to be committed and have perseverance to secure a job.
  • There were no placement services provided for my course but as mentioned earlier, the University have student support and career departments that can help you to do your resume and coach you for interviews.
  • Murdoch Children's Research Institute, QML pathology, Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, Peter Mac, VCGS, VCCS, SA pathology, Austin Pathology, Genomic Diagnostic, Western Pathology

  • I was lucky to have a relative living in Australia. I lived in their family home.
  • Typically it would cost about $350 per week to have a room in a house with an attached bathroom and common kitchen and all the bill such as gas, electricity and internet, covered.
  • If want to be economical, then you can get a room which is not in the city precinct with common bathroom, kitchen and living space for about $800 per month with about $90 per month for bills
  • I did not encounter any challenges
  • Future students should look for shared room advertisements on Facebook marketplace and Gumtree. Please check the accommodation physically before signing any lease or bond.

  • Jobs are not available through campus placements. You need to search for jobs similar to a part-time job using online job portals, career websites, and references.
  • People do get jobs generally, but it is really important to look for the right jobs and through the right set of people. In some cases, if you work in an internship, that might get converted to a full-time job if you perform well.
  • Major companies include Suncorp Bank, ANZ, Fidelity Investments, Trilogy Funds, BlackRock, Australian Retirement Fund, and Queensland Investment Corporation, etc.

  • I found the accommodation using online portals like https://www.realestate.com.au/, which provide you with a lot of listings with pictures, rentals, and amenities involved.
  • Monthly rental for me was $395, shared by two of us for a bedroom, separate bathroom, and shared kitchen.
  • Challenges involve finding a decent enough house as per the requirements, within a budget, and not far from the city. The recommendation would be to look for different options on a variety of portals, use Facebook groups, and go for a lot of house inspections to understand what works for you.
  • Mine was about 2.5 km from the college.

Networking and travel opportunities in which QUT was able to offer me in addition to my studies itself. QUT offers many short and long term exchange programs as well as study tours which allows small groups of students to travel overseas and gain credible experiences

Because this is the only university in Brisbane which focus on more practical application than theory in technology field there are a lot of opportunities in this university to work on IT projects with supervisors and learn how this field operates in real life which motivated me even more to join this university

I heard many good things from past students, my siblings also went to this university and had positive experiences. It was closer than Griffith and I also liked the campuses a lot better than any other university I looked at.

I am unaware I don't know so I'm not sure how to answer this since I am a first-year uni student and haven't really thought about inquiring yet since it's not yet relevant to my studies this year but I'll look into it.

It had lots of freebies and it's just a great school from word of mouth it's also easy to access and who doesn't like free stuff. I'll go anywhere if they do lots of giveaways and market days and fun activities.

There is a multitude of job opportunities and placements, but these are something you must apply for of your own accord. QUT has a job placement board that you can go to in order to apply for jobs, internships, and other work opportunities. They also force you to work on an industry project for your two capstone units at the end of the degree, so you can gather some work experience working for a particular employer.

I elected to go to QUT due to its reputation. I had heard and researched that QUT had one of the best technology courses and curriculum in comparison to other universities teaching the same course. Its location is in the middle of the city also made it easy for me to reach it from work.

The job opportunities in Brisbane seem very limited for international students, although there are a lot of vacation programs that I've yet to apply for. There are many opportunities in large corporates as well.

QUT has a good ranking which will give me a recognized degree, and also with their learning resources outside the classroom, it will allow me to gain practical knowledge. Brisbane being a very hospital city made me consider it as well.
