  • The difficulty of my course isn't that bad, considering I have prior knowledge of Computer Science. I have batchmates who have never done computer science and they found it to be quite difficult. The assignments are also a bit challenging, as well as the final exams, which are written. The courses do involve a bit of both, with theoretical written exams as well as coding/project-based assignments
  • The most positive aspect of this course is the professors are very helpful. They are always ready to help out and you can give your assignments to them to review before the actual submission to get insightful input.
  • The negative aspect is that the teaching assistants aren't always the best. They don't know much about the course or subject and therefore don't really answer our questions properly when we ask
  • Depending on how many classes you take up in the semester. Taking up 4 courses for the semester would result in having 4 lectures a week (1-2 hours) and workshops for those courses (1-2 hours)
  • On average, it can be 2 hours a day of classes. It's based on availability of lecture rooms
  • Average number of students can vary again. If it's master's-only courses, it can be anywhere between 60-200 students (200 if it includes a course that Bachelor's can take up as well). At least 30-50% students are Indian in my enrolled course

Fees

  • The entire course was 100,000 AUD. I got a scholarship of 30%, which brought it down to 70,000 AUD.
  • There is accommodation that is separate; that is around 250-350 a week, depending on where you are staying and the room type. I paid 250-300 a week for 2 years.
  • Fees are paid for every credit you take for that semester.
  • My monthly expense which includes rent, living, and utilities, is 1600-2000 AUD per month.
  • So 250-300 for Rent per week and 60-100 a week for food/groceries; Utilities like mobile bills are 25 per month
  • Eating out and shopping could be anywhere between 100-400 AUD per month, depending on how often you go out. So overall, 1600-2000 AUD

The course curriculum is quite similar to an MBA program and is interesting. The number of days that you would be expected to go to university would be minimal.

The University of Adelaide provides one of the most delicate course structures for Masters of Computer Science. This well-adjusted degree structure is one of the main reasons I have chosen to study at The University of Adelaide even though I have offer letters from The University of Sydney and The University of Queensland.

For the academic part, it's not just lectures, we have seminars, we have practical laboratories which are going on. We have different types of tutorials. The lectures are basically where the professor teaches us and in tutorials the assistant professors help us to overcome our errors. They are very friendly so if we have any kind of doubts in the technical aspect they do help us and make us overcome that. In academic perspective apart from the final exams we do have a lot of weekly tasks like quizzes, on campus monitor exams and assignments like a couple of them in each semester which are pretty practical in nature. It is all scheduled properly and we have our individual portal and we can message our professors where we can ask our doubts and they reply immediately.

The University of Adelaide is great. I can't explain it in words. When I was in India I was not meant to be so free and personally experience each and everything apart from studies as well and to lead a life individually. So the campus life is really good. The university provides a lot of opportunities for growth and there are many clubs for different activities, career building activities to build our resume, cover letter and how to get the networking and professional life built. They do conduct a lot of workshops too related to how to motivate yourself. So a lot of fun activities are going on and Orientation week is the perfect opportunity because every student has to go and visit the campus where all the fun activities are going on and stalls are set up to promote the events.

A bit outdated except for the internship experience I had.

I received a scholarship for it and it was also an opportunity to experience a new environment for which I was keen to do.

The course syllabus that I was exposed to in my first and second semester was considered to be updated and relevant to the current understanding of IT. As of now, I have not been given any industrial exposure or research experience yet.

I chose the University of Adelaide as it is ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide. They're also a member of Australia's Group of Eight, made up of the country's best universities, and feature a beautiful campus with traditional sandstone buildings mixed with cutting-edge learning and research facilities.

The course curriculum is very vast with a lot more varied courses that you can study. You may also get an option to study courses from different department after consulting with the faculty advisors.

I had a lot of counseling done and did a lot of research regarding the course I wanted to do and then I landed at the university of Adelaide.

The faculty is really good. All the professors are really helpful. They explain everything in a great manner and make it very simple for anyone to understand.

Fees

The fees are to be paid every semester. There are a lot of scholarships available for international students. I received a 15% scholarship. I also have taken a loan from a bank in India to support my finances. Other than that my parents are sponsoring my studies along with my grandparents. I am really grateful for the same.
