La Trobe University Application Process for Indian Students
Indian applicants apply through La Trobe’s StudyLink Student Application Portal directly, or through an authorised education agent. The portal accepts both Bachelor’s and Master’s applications under a unified workflow with conditional-offer turnaround typically within 4 to 6 weeks.
- Create your StudyLink account on the La Trobe international portal and select your campus and intake.
- Upload Class XII or Bachelor’s transcripts (certified copies, English translations where applicable).
- Add your IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE score report. Skip this step if you qualify for the medium-of-instruction waiver.
- Submit a Statement of Purpose and CV for PG applications, and academic references where program rules require them.
- Pay no application fee — La Trobe waives the direct-application charge.
- Track your conditional or full offer through StudyLink, and accept by paying the tuition deposit (typically the first semester’s fee).
- Receive your electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE), which unlocks the Subclass 500 visa application.
Offer letters are typically issued within 4 to 6 weeks of complete submission. Conditional offers can be cleared by submitting pending documents (final transcript, English test score) up to 4 weeks before intake start. Deferrals to the next intake are allowed once and must be requested before accepting the offer.
La Trobe University Documents Required
The document set below covers the standard StudyLink application for Indian applicants. Submit certified copies (or scans in colour) at the upload stage. Originals are produced only at visa interview or campus enrolment.

La Trobe University Acceptance Rate for Indian Students
La Trobe does not publish an official institutional acceptance rate. Based on third-party estimates and the university’s access-oriented model (which admits most applicants meeting stated requirements), the institutional acceptance rate is estimated at 70 to 75% for international applicants. Indian students compete in the same pool as other international applicants and face no separate cap.
How Competitive is La Trobe for Indian Applicants?
Programs with strict accreditation overlay (Nursing, Allied Health, Teaching) sit at the lower end of the acceptance band because regulatory minimums apply alongside academic ones. General business, IT, and humanities masters sit higher, often clearing 80% of eligible applicants. La Trobe’s ranking band for global research stands at QS 233 in 2026, viewable on the student-reviewed rankings page.
La Trobe Acceptance Patterns by Program Type
MBA and Master of Business Analytics applicants from India who clear the 60% Bachelor’s floor and the IELTS 6.5 minimum see strong offer rates given La Trobe’s appetite for PG international enrolment. The Computer Science Bachelor’s draws competitive applications but rarely rejects on academic grounds when Class XII Mathematics is above 75%.
La Trobe University rewards applicants who time their submission to the primary March intake and lean into the MOI waiver where it applies. With no application fee, rolling assessment, and a generous PG funding pool, Indian students who clear the 60% academic and IELTS 6.5 floor see a fast offer-to-visa runway when documents are filed clean and early.

Scholarship
- Yes, I did receive the scholarship for my course. It is 25% of my tuition fee for the first year of my course. This includes the 25% deduction in the amount I paid for the first two semesters. $AU 12,525 is the first fee paid for the first semester after deducting the scholarship of 25%. Also, I received an Early bird acceptance grant of 5% for the first year for taking admission early. This amount is adjusted in the 2nd year of education.

- As per the ranking, La Trobe university is considered to be one of the best university in Australia and also the tuition fee is in my budget
Overview
My overall experience was not at all fascinating. There is no support from university related to placements. Most of the classes were conducted online with poor quality. Australian job market is really worst to find professional job after graduation. You need to have at least 3-4years of job experience before commencing masters in order to survive in Australia.
Scholarship
I received 30% scholarship based on my IELTS score and marks achieved in my bachelors.
Overview
I had some friends in Latrobe, also Latrobe is a good university in Australia as it is one of the tops. I myself wanted to pursue my studies at a good university that could help me explore things that I had not explored before. Plus its main branch is in Melbourne where the cost of living is lower than in Sydney. These are the reasons to choose Latrobe University.
Scholarship
I got about a 15% scholarship and it was given on the basis of my CGPA at graduation. If you have 7 then you can get 20% and even 25% percent. It largely depends on the university. But that was the case with Latrobe.
Overview
It has courses structured to meet the required industry requirements that frequently get updated. State-of-art facilities, Public and Established University

Overview
I am very passionate about studying Human Resources. I spent significant amount time to research the courses and subjects designed by the universities. I was impressed with the range of topics covered in Human Resource in my current program at La Trobe University. I preferred La Trobe over the other Universities specifically because of the course, Master of Management - Human Resource Management.
Scholarship
I have received a La Trobe International scholarship, which was granted based on my academic records. The University provided 25 per cent reduction in course fees.
Overview
Because they have the specific course I wanted to do in a double degree. I also loved the large open campus and how there are interesting things to do there that are unrelated to study such as a wildlife sanctuary.
Scholarship
Yes I applied for a commonwealth supported place meaning that the government pays my tuition and i pay them back when I have the money
Overview
Good education with affordable tuition fees. Good graduate employability in the industry. Good infrastructure and resources for students to seek help if facing any difficulties. Many students clubs and extracurricular activities for students all-round development.
Overview
Because it was the only university that had the specific course I wanted to do, I was looking around but no other university offered a course like this and also because this university is big.
Overview
La Trobe University offers the variety of courses I wanted, it is also relatively close to my home town which is around about 3 hours away, meaning I can still keep in contact with my family and catch up with them on weekends.
