XAT 2027 Registration: Dates, Steps and Fee

XAT 2027 registration is expected to open in August 2026 and close in late November 2026. You should register before the standard deadline to avoid the late surcharge. Follow these steps to complete the XAT 2027 application:

1. Visit xatonline.in and click on the XAT 2027 registration link once it goes live.
2. Enter your name, email address, mobile number, and date of birth to create your XAT account.
3. Fill in your academic details including graduation degree, college name, percentage or CGPA, and year of passing.
4. Select your preferred exam city from the available test centre list across India and abroad.
5. Choose the B-school programmes you wish to apply to (XLRI and/or other XAT member institutes).
6. Upload your recent passport-size photograph and signature in the specified dimensions and file format.
7. Pay the registration fee via net banking, debit or credit card, or UPI.
8. Download and save your XAT 2027 registration confirmation for future reference.

Eligibility: You need a valid bachelor’s degree in any discipline (or be in the final year of graduation) to apply. There is no upper age limit for XAT 2027.

XAT 2027 Admit Card

XAT 2027 admit cards are expected to be released for download in late December 2026 at xatonline.in. You cannot enter the exam hall without a printed admit card. To download your XAT 2027 admit card:

1. Log in to xatonline.in with your XAT 2027 ID and registered password.
2. Click on the admit card download link in your applicant dashboard.
3. Verify your name, exam centre address, reporting time, and photograph on the admit card.
4. Print the admit card on A4 paper. Both colour and black-and-white printouts are accepted.

Carry your printed admit card along with one valid government-issued photo ID proof (Aadhaar card, PAN card, voter ID, or passport) to the exam centre. Electronic copies on mobile phones are not accepted at XAT test centres. Contact XLRI immediately if you find any discrepancy on your admit card before the exam date.

XAT 2027 Exam Date and Pattern

XAT 2027 is expected to be held on January 3, 2027, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM as a computer-based test at centres across 100+ cities in India. The exam has two parts:

XAT uses a negative marking scheme: each correct answer carries +1 mark; each incorrect answer deducts 0.25 marks. Leaving more than eight questions unattempted attracts an additional penalty of 0.10 marks per unattempted question. The General Knowledge section and essay do not count toward the XAT percentile but are considered separately during XLRI’s selection process.

XAT 2027 Result and Score Card

XAT 2027 result is expected to be declared by January 31, 2027, at xatonline.in. The result will display your section-wise scores and overall XAT percentile calculated on Part 1 (the three scored sections). Here is what happens after the result:

• XAT percentile is computed for the scored Part 1 sections and used by all 150+ member institutes to shortlist you for interviews.
• Score card download is expected to be available from February 2027; you can use it to apply to XAT-accepting institutes that were not selected at the time of registration.
• XLRI interview calls for PGDM-Business Management (BM) and PGDM-Human Resource Management (HRM) are expected in February 2027.
• Most XAT member institutes release their own shortlists between February and March 2027, based on your XAT 2027 percentile.
