How to Fill and Lock Choices on ojee.nic.in

Your preference list determines your seat allotment. The system assigns seats based on your rank and the priority order of your selected college-course pairs. Fill as many choices as possible and place your most preferred option at the top.

  1. Log in to your counselling account — visit ojee.nic.in and log in with your registration number and password after completing payment.
  2. Open the Choice Filling module — click Choice Filling or College and Course Preference from your dashboard.
  3. Browse available options — the left pane lists all available college-course combinations. Filter by district, institution type (government, aided or private) or programme to narrow your search.
  4. Add choices — click Add to move a college-course pair to your preference list in the right pane.
  5. Arrange your preference order — use Move Up, Move Down, Interchange or Rearrange Page to set your final priority sequence. Use Batch Delete to remove multiple unwanted choices at once.
  6. Save your progress frequently — click Save regularly. Saved choices can be edited any time before the locking deadline. Saving does not lock your choices.
  7. Lock choices before the deadline — once satisfied with your list, click Lock Choices, re-enter your password and confirm. Choices once locked cannot be unlocked or changed under any circumstances. The system auto-locks saved choices at 4:00 PM on June 29, 2026.
  8. Print the confirmation slip — download and print the locked choice confirmation. This printout is required at the document verification centre.

There is no upper limit on the number of choices you can fill. Include colleges across multiple districts and institution types to improve your chances across all three allotment rounds.

Seat Allotment Rounds and Online Reporting

OJEE 2026 LE-Tech counselling follows three seat allotment rounds. Allotment is based on your rank and choice order. You must report online within the specified window for each round to retain your seat.

Round Allotment Date Online Reporting Window
Round 1 July 2, 2026 July 2 to 7, 2026
Round 2 July 15, 2026 July 15 to 19, 2026 (till 5:00 PM)
Round 3 / Special Round July 30, 2026 To be notified on ojee.nic.in

Online reporting requires uploading scanned document copies, paying the seat confirmation fee of Rs 25,000 via Axis Bank, SBI or online card and selecting a Freeze, Float or Slide preference. Missing the reporting window for any round results in cancellation of the allotted seat for that round.

Freeze, Float and Slide Options Explained

Every student who receives a seat allotment must select one of three options during online reporting. The selection cannot be reversed after submission.

Option What It Means Best Suited When
Freeze Accept the allotted seat as final and exit the counselling pool. You are not considered in further rounds. You are satisfied with the allotted college and course and do not want to risk losing the seat.
Float Accept the current seat temporarily while remaining eligible for a better allotment in the next round. If a higher-preference option becomes available, you move to it; otherwise your current seat is retained. You want a better option in the next round but need the current seat as a safety net.
Slide Keep the allotted college but request an upgrade to a higher-preference course within the same institution. You are happy with the college but prefer a different branch such as CSE over Mechanical Engineering.

Students who select Float or Slide must report again in the next round if any change is made. Freeze your seat only when you are certain — you exit the pool immediately and forfeit any chance of a better allotment in subsequent rounds.
