- Reading Φ instead of dΦ/dt. A huge steady flux gives zero EMF. Only the rate of change makes voltage.
- Mixing N² and N₁N₂. Self-induction uses N², mutual uses N₁N₂. Swapping them sinks the whole 5-mark derivation.
- Opposing the flux, not the change. Lenz's law opposes the change in flux, not the flux itself. If flux is falling, the induced current tries to keep it up.
