Hyderabad, January 03, 2019: GITAM University, Hyderabad students distributed notebooks at Indrakaran, Kalivemula and Mamidipally ZP High Schools on the hands of GITAM Resident Director DVVSR Varma, ITC Senior Manager S.N.Umakanth, Manager Anil, GITAM Alumni K.Subhash and G.Hemanth on 2nd January 2019 under the programme ‘Wellbeing out of waste’.
GITAMITES collected the paper waste at University premises and sent the same to ITC for recycling. The ITC officials gave away the same worth of Classmate notebooks in return. The same was distributed to the Government school students in underprivileged areas. This programme has been continuing since 2009.
ITC Senior Manager told how to separate the dry and wet waste and how it contributes to the environment. GITAM B.Tech students under the leadership of Shivaprasad also took part in this programme.
