Hyderabad, January 30, 2019: GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad celebrated India’s 70th Republic Day at Gandhi square on 26th January 2019. The day began with nations song and anthem followed by flag hoisting by Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. N.Siva Prasad.
He appealed that the urgent need to improve the standards of the education, research and development in our country. He also told that there is miss-match between degrees and the real skills among the youth going out to the employment market and this must change. We should regularly assess issues related to the training of teachers, the quality of the education, the extent of its outreach, Prof. Siva Prasad added.
The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. The campus echoed with patriotic fervour as the students sang patriotic songs. It was followed by a beautiful traditional dance, which received lot was of applauds from the audience. The students, staff dispersed after breakfast with the image of the fluttering tricolour in their minds.
