- The Master of Science (M.S.) in Community Health and Prevention Research (CHPR) consists of a minimum of 45 units and is designed for students pursuing health-related careers focusing on chronic disease prevention, health and wellness promotion, and the pursuit of health equity.
- Focus Areas: Students explore chronic disease patterns across diverse communities, emphasizing prevention strategies to enhance health and equity at individual, family, community, and population levels.
- Research Skills: They critically analyze and assess research in community health and prevention, actively participating in research teams promoting health equity and social responsibility.
- Methodological Training: The curriculum emphasizes methodological skills such as research study design, implementation, and data analysis relevant to community health and prevention research.
- Practical Experience: Includes a community-based research internship integrating coursework and implementation science, aimed at developing, implementing, and evaluating health interventions addressing community health challenges.
- Thesis Requirement: Culminates in a master’s thesis, synthesizing and applying knowledge gained throughout the program.
