Dislikes:

  • Location- Kent is a small town which limits the job search within the city as compared to major cities like California, and Seattle. null
  • Weather- Kent is located in the north side of Ohio which experiences long winters, and as an Indian, I don't like it much. null
  • Parking Issues- Many students complain about the parking space as it is limited, most of the students park their vehicles near the stadium and then come by bus. null

I applied in multiple colleges before I got into Kent State University: University of Alabama at Birmingham (Admitted) Oregon State University (Rejected) The University of Dayton (Admitted) Kent State University (Admitted) George Mason University (Rejected) San Francisco University (Admitted) Drexel University (Admitted) I applied for 7 universities from which I got selected in 5 universities and got rejected in 2, maybe they don't find me a good fit for their program. I chose this university because of its ranking, it is a public university, was getting the course I wanted, and also it was cheaper compared to my other admits. The most popular intake, offering the widest range of courses and scholarships is the fall intake (August). The process will take nearly a year including the visa process if you want to apply for fall 2025 then you should start by Nov 2024 and should take the exam by Oct or Sep.You should apply for the admission process by early Nov or Dec while preparing for the exam you should ready your documents as well.

I chose overall 3 colleges for my study abroad based on my tuition fee structure, course curriculum, and duration of my master's program in the US. I got accepted in all 3 and Kent State University was one among them. I prefer moving to Kent State because of the spring session start of my master's program. I was able to start early so that’s the reason I preferred moving to Kent, Ohio for my master's program.

Dislikes:

  • Nothing much, it was a small university with limited research help, but still if you want to grow there is a lot of chance here. There is a lot of support from department side and there help you in a friendly manner. null

It was pretty good, my journey at kent state university went very peaceful and neat.

Dislikes:

  • This university does not offer scholarships of any kind. This is one thing that I dislike. I personally feel that the effort put by the university to create networking platforms with working professionals is nearly negligible. null

My overall experience at Kent state university has been a very pleasant one. My stay in Kent has nurtured me into an independent individual. My spectrum of imagination and application has been broadened because of the knowledge I gained at KSU.

It's close to my hometown. I also like the programs it offers and it has a pretty campus. I knew kids who went there before me too. So that really pulled me in. There are good professors too and others.

The fashion program is the third in the country behind New York and Los Angeles and they gave me scholarships and have a really good program. I also like it because it is no too far away from my home town, but far enough that it gives me the college experience.

The university is 30 minutes from my house. This allows me to be able to live at home and drive to school every day. It has a beautiful campus and it is the second largest campus in Ohio. It has a great education program as well!

The relative location to my home town was close but yet far enough that it gave the experience of being away at school during the duration of my college experience. I offered the program I wanted and was affordable.
