I chose overall 3 colleges for my study abroad based on my tuition fee structure, course curriculum, and duration of my master's program in the US. I got accepted in all 3 and Kent State University was one among them. I prefer moving to Kent State because of the spring session start of my master's program. I was able to start early so that’s the reason I preferred moving to Kent, Ohio for my master's program.

Course Curriculum

10

I loved the course curriculum and academics at Kent State because it was a very flexible, well-designed course, and covered basic to advanced skills needed to excel in the course.

Faculty

10

The student-to-faculty ratio for my master's of public health program was 1:20. As there are not many students who pursue a master's of public health as such. My faculty and staff at Kent State were super supportive and friendly. You can discuss each and every course-related query with them. Faculty will always be available to help you in case you are facing difficulties with assignments, or understanding any concepts, how to get an internship, etc.

Campus Life

9

Campus life is pretty safe and comfortable at Kent State. Kent State has the largest library with ample amount of resources for students, you can easily issue all your course-related books from there, they do have separate study rooms, and group study rooms. Kent State's environment is very open to accepting international students. They organise all Indian festivals such as Holi, Diwali, etc.

Placement

Research opportunities after completion of my master's program were good. The faculties within the master's program also help you in getting good placement opportunities.

Accommodation

Off Campus
8

So, in order to get good accommodation I would advise there are Indian associations available for many international universities. These associations help you with everything i.e. getting accommodation, contacting and communicating with people from similar courses or backgrounds, picking you up from the airport, dropping you at your respective location, providing you with a university tour, etc.

Exams

- My IELTS score was 7.5. IELTS was a basic requirement for the Master of Public Health program at Kent State. - CBSE (Queens College) - 80% (12th); DAVV University, Indore - 67% (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) (merit holder in MP) - Requirements: Yes, I had to submit my statement of purpose stating why I would do my master's of public health from Kent State after my under-graduation in dental science and how it is going to be helpful in future. I worked extremely hard to prepare my statement of purpose stating exactly why I want to pursue higher studies by doing a master's of public health and how in future it is going to be helpful for me as well as for my society. Then there were 3 LORs which needed to be sent to Kent State University. These can be from your college faculties or from the employees with whom you have worked. Along with it, there will be an interview call from the university department once you are selected. There will be your professors from the department under whom you will be completing your graduation. They would want to know your aspirations regarding the course and how much knowledge you had in your undergrad regarding the same.

Fees

Tuition fees for the program can be from the Kent State website. As I got a graduate assistantship during my master's tenure, so my tuition fees were waived.
